Perumbalam is a small landmass in the Vembanad backwaters, home to about thirty temples, including the famous Arayukulangara Sri Krishna temple, dedicated to Bhaghavan Sri Krishna.
Perumbalam is a small island located in the Alappuzha district, believed to have been formed approximately 1,000 years ago. It is home to the renowned Arayukulangara Sri Krishna temple, where the principal deity is Bhagavan Sri Krishna. The local community holds the belief that Krishna plays a vital role in the prosperous development and well-being of the entire region.
The Arayukulangara Sree Krishna Swami temple festival for the year 2024 is scheduled to take place from March 1 to March 8. Within the temple, Sri Krishna is revered in his Balagopala form. The eight-day annual festival culminates with the Arattu ceremony, which occurs on the Thiruvonam Nakshatra day in the month of Meenam. The annual festival is renowned for its traditional temple music, dance performances, artistic expressions, and elaborately adorned elephants. The concluding day features the arattu procession, which is distinguished by its vibrant procession and accompanying temple music. The deities worshipped in the temple include Ganapathy, Shiva, Bhagavathi, Sastha, and Rakshas.
Following the Nirmalyam ritual, there are a total of five poojas conducted: Usha Pooja, Ethirthu Pooja, Pantheeradi Pooja, Utcha Pooja, and Athazha Pooja, along with Seeveli performed three times. Each day, these poojas are carried out with great reverence. Significant days celebrated at the temple with devotion include Vishu, Ashtamirohini, Thiruvonam, and Kuchela Jayanti. The primary offerings consist of Unniyoot, Thiruvona Oottu, Santhanagopala Pushpanjali, Swayamvara Pushpanjali, Palpayasam, and Utsavabali. Additionally, the Bhagavata Sapthaham is conducted annually.
അറയൂകുളങ്ങര ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണ ക്ഷേത്രം

പെരുമ്പളം ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണ ക്ഷേത്രം ഒരു ക്ഷേത്ര സന്ദർശനത്തിന് അനുയോജ്യമായ സ്ഥലമാണ്. ഈ ദ്വീപും ക്ഷേത്രവും അവിടത്തെ ജനങ്ങളുടെ ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ ഒരു പ്രധാന ഭാഗമാണ്. ക്ഷേത്രം നന്നായി സംരക്ഷിക്കുകയും പരിപാലിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. ശിവൻ, ഗണപതി, ഭദ്രകാളി, ശാസ്താവ് എന്നിവരെ പ്രധാന ഉപദേവന്മാരായി ശ്രീകോവിലിനോടൊപ്പം പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.കരനാഥനായി വാണരുളുന്ന ശ്രീ കൃഷ്ണ ഭഗവാൻ ഈ ഗ്രാമത്തിന്റെ ഐശ്വര്യവർത്തിയായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു, ഗ്രാമവാസികൾ ഒരുമിച്ച് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ആരാധിക്കുന്നു. നിർമാല്യ ദർശനത്തിനു ശേഷം 5 പൂജകൾ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു: ഉഷപൂജ, എതിരേറ്റു പൂജ, പന്തീരടിപൂജ, ഉച്ചപൂജ, അത്താഴപൂജ.
മൂന്ന് ശീവേലിയോടുകൂടി ഈ പൂജകൾ ദൈനംദിനം നടത്തിവരുന്നു. മീനമാസത്തിലെ തിരുവോണ ഉത്സവം ആറാട്ടോടുകൂടി 8 ദിവസത്തെ ആഘോഷങ്ങളോടെ വളരെ ഭംഗിയായി നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന വിശേഷ ദിവസങ്ങളായ വിഷു, അഷ്ടമിരോഹിണി, തിരുവോണം, കുചേല ജയന്തി എന്നിവയെ ഭക്തിയോടെ ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു. ഉണ്ണിയൂട്ട്, തിരുവോണ ഊട്ട്, സന്താനഗോപാല പുഷ്പാഞ്ജലി, സ്വയംവര പുഷ്പാഞ്ജലി, പാൽപ്പായസം, ഉത്സവബലി എന്നിവയാണ് പ്രധാന വഴിപാടുകൾ. വർഷം തോറും ഭാഗവത സപ്താഹം നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.
