Chatankari Bhagavathy Temple, with an 800-year history, is located in Chatankari in the Alappuzha district, about 9 kilometers from Tiruvalla.
The main deity of the temple is Bhadrakali, revered as the divine mother and facing eastward. Estimated to be around 800 years old, the temple was in a dilapidated state due to age and is now undergoing complete reconstruction in response to a divine instruction. Architect and sculptor Brahmadatta Namboothiri serves as the Sthapathi for this project, and the temple is being entirely rebuilt in Krishna stone to preserve its sanctity and heritage.

ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ചാത്തങ്കരി എന്ന സ്ഥലത്ത് 800 വർഷം പഴക്കമുള്ള ചാത്തങ്കരി ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. തിരുവല്ലയിൽ നിന്ന് 9 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയാണ് ഈ സ്ഥലം. "ഭദ്രകാളി" ആണ് പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠ. ദേവിയുടെ ദർശനം കിഴക്ക് ആണ്. ഇവിടെ ദേവി മാതൃഭാവത്തിൽ വസിക്കുന്നു.
ചാത്തങ്കരി പ്രദേശത്തിന്റെ ആരാധനാ കേന്ദ്രമായ ഈ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം, ചാത്തങ്കരിയുടെ ദേവതയാണ് ചാത്തങ്കരിഅമ്മ. കാലാവസ്ഥയുടെ ബാധ മൂലം ജീർണ്ണമായിരുന്ന ക്ഷേത്രം പൂർണ്ണമായും പുനർനിർമ്മാണത്തിലാണ്. ഭക്തർ, ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ എത്തി ദേവിയുടെ അനുഗ്രഹം തേടുന്നു, പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് ഉത്സവ സമയങ്ങളിൽ, ഇവിടെ നടക്കുന്ന ആഘോഷങ്ങൾ, ഭക്തരുടെ കൂട്ടായ്മയും, ആചാരങ്ങളും, വിശേഷ പ്രാർത്ഥനകളും, ദേവിയുടെ മഹിമയെ ആഴത്തിൽ അനുഭവിക്കാൻ അവസരം നൽകുന്നു.
