Kandamangalam Rajarajeshwari Temple is situated in Kadakkarappally, within the Cherthala region of the Alappuzha district. This exquisite temple is devoted to Goddess Rajarajeshwari.
The deities venerated in the temple include Shiva, Ganapati, and Muruga (Subrahmanya). The temple features an exquisite two-tiered square sanctum sanctorum, known as chathura sreekovil, with outer walls renowned for their intricate carvings. The annual festival is celebrated on the Meena Bharani day, while other significant festivals observed at the temple include Thaipooyam, Mahashivratri, Pongala, Vinayaka Chaturthi, Navratri, and Thrikarthika.
The annual festival is renowned for its traditional temple arts and music, known as melam, as well as for its adorned elephants and grand processions. Key temple rituals, including sarpa bali, utsava bali, pallivetta, and arattu, are integral to the festivities. Kalamezhuthum pattum takes place in May, while the annual prathishta dinam is celebrated in July. Located in Kandamangalam, the Aratukulam Shakti Vinayaka Temple is a significant part of the Rajarajeshwari temple complex. This temple houses a centuries-old miraculous Ganesha idol, which was discovered underground and is now enshrined in the Aarat pool of Goddess Kandamangalam Rajarajeshwari. The Shakti Vinayaka Temple serves as a spiritual haven for individuals from diverse castes and religions, and it is constructed entirely from Krishna stone.
കണ്ടമംഗലം രാജരാജേശ്വരി ക്ഷേത്രം
ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രധാന ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് കണ്ടമംഗലം രാജരാജേശ്വരി ക്ഷേത്രം. ചേർത്തല താലൂക്കിൽ, ചേർത്തല-എറണാകുളം ദേശീയപാതയിൽ തങ്കി കവലയിൽ നിന്നും ഏകദേശം ഒരു കിലോമീറ്റർ പടിഞ്ഞാറ് കടക്കരപ്പള്ളിയിൽ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. രാജരാജേശ്വരി ദേവിക്ക് സമർപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ മനോഹര ക്ഷേത്രം കേരളീയ വാസ്തുവിദ്യയുടെ ഒരു ഉദാഹരണമാണ്. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ഉപദേവതകൾ ശിവൻ, ഗണപതി, മുരുകൻ (സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യൻ) എന്നിവരാണ്. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ മനോഹരമായ ഇരുതല ചതുരാകൃതിയിലുള്ള ശ്രീകോവിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു.
പുറം ഭിത്തികൾ കൊത്തുപണികളാൽ ആകർഷകമാണ്. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ വാർഷിക ഉത്സവം മീന ഭരണി നാളിൽ ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു. തൈപ്പൂയം, മഹാശിവരാത്രി, പൊങ്കാല, വിനായക ചതുർത്ഥി, നവരാത്രി, തൃക്കാർത്തിക എന്നിവയാണ് മറ്റ് പ്രധാന ഉത്സവങ്ങൾ. വാർഷിക ഉത്സവം പരമ്പരാഗത ക്ഷേത്ര കലകൾ, വാദ്യമേളങ്ങൾ, നെറ്റിപ്പട്ടം കെട്ടിയ ആനകളുടെ ഘോഷയാത്ര എന്നിവയാൽ പ്രശസ്തമാണ്. ക്ഷേത്രാചാരങ്ങളായ സർപ്പബലി, ഉത്സവബലി, പള്ളിവേട്ട, ആറാട്ട് എന്നിവ ഉത്സവത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമാണ്.
ആറാട്ടുകുളം ശക്തി വിനായക ക്ഷേത്രം കണ്ടമംഗലത്തുള്ള മറ്റൊരു പ്രശസ്തമായ ക്ഷേത്രമാണ്. രാജരാജേശ്വരി ക്ഷേത്രസമുച്ചയത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന ഭാഗമായ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം, കണ്ടമംഗലത്തിലെ രാജരാജേശ്വരി ദേവിയുടെ ആറാട്ട് കുളത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. മണ്ണിനടിയിൽ നിന്ന് കണ്ടെത്തിയ നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകളോളം പഴക്കമുള്ള അത്ഭുത ഗണേശ വിഗ്രഹം ഇവിടെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിതമാണ്. വിവിധ മതങ്ങളിലെ വിശ്വാസികൾക്ക് ആത്മീയ അഭയമായാണ് ശക്തി വിനായക ക്ഷേത്രം അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്. ക്ഷേത്രം പൂർണ്ണമായും കൃഷ്ണശിലയിൽ നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
