Palliyarakkavu temple is situated in Kavalam, within the Allappuzha district. This temple is devoted to Goddess Durga.
The idol that is venerated does not possess a specific form and is considered swayambhu, signifying its divine origin. The view of the primary sanctum sanctorum is oriented towards the west.
The secondary deities honored within the temple include Ganapathy, Subrahmanian, Shiva, Sri Krishna, Sasthavu, and Bhadrakali. Unlike typical Bhagavathi temples, this shrine does not utilize the customary red flowers. The ten-day annual festival concludes with the Arattu ceremony, which takes place on the Uthram nakshatra during the month of Meenam.
കാവാലം പള്ളിയറക്കാവ് ദേവീക്ഷേത്രം
ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലയിലെ ശാന്തമായ കാവാലത്താണ് പള്ളിയറക്കാവ് ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. ദുർഗ്ഗാ ദേവിക്ക് സമർപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ, പടിഞ്ഞാറ് അന്നപൂർണേശ്വരിയുടെ മുഖ്യപ്രതിഷ്ഠ കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. വടക്കായി ഭദ്രകാളി ദേവിയുടെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയും ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ട്. മീനമാസത്തിലെ കാർത്തിക നാളിൽ കൊടിയേറി ഉത്രം നാളിൽ ആറാട്ടോടെയാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ഉത്സവം നടത്തുന്നത്.
മഹാദേവൻ, ഗണപതി, സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യൻ, ധർമ്മശാസ്താവ്, ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണൻ, നാഗരാജാവ്, നാഗയക്ഷി, രക്ഷസ് എന്നിവരുടെ ഉപക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളും ഇവിടെ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന ചുവന്ന നിറത്തിലുള്ള പൂക്കൾ ഈ ശ്രീകോവിലിൽ ഉപയോഗിക്കാറില്ല. ക്ഷേത്ര പരിസരത്ത് നാല് വിശാലമായ കുളങ്ങളും രണ്ട് കിണറുകളും കാണപ്പെടുന്നു.
