Nedumudy Kottaram Bhagavathy Temple is situated in Nedumudi, within the Alappuzha district of Kerala. This sacred site is devoted to the worship of Goddess Bhagavathi.
The principal deity of the temple, Durga, is oriented towards the East. Ganesha and Yakshiamma are situated at Kannimula, adjacent to Nalambalam. In the northeast corner resides Shiva, alongside the temple guardian, Nagaraja, while Nagayakshi has distinct Nadas. The temple conducts three daily Pujas, and various offerings are made, including Arunazhi, Muzhukkap, and Niramala.
A notable offering, ‘varapodi nivedyam,’ is dedicated to the recovery of lost items. The months of Ayilyam and Navarathri, particularly in Kannimasam, hold special significance. Mandalakalam is celebrated as the Chirap festival, culminating in thalapoli on the forty-first day. During the month of Vruschikam, Karthikanal features ‘Samuha Pongala.’ Kalabhabhishekam occurs on the Uthrattathi day in the month of Makaram.
The festivals of Kumbhabharani and Meenabharani are marked by Lakshadeepam. The Namaskaram for Karkkitakavavu is also of great importance. An eight-day temple festival takes place during Kumbham Month, renowned for its ‘Seva,’ which attracts devotees from distant locations to partake in the two-hour long ceremony.The day of consecration occurs on Uthrattathi in the month of Makaram. Additionally, the Kalabham ritual takes place during the month of Makaram.
നെടുമുടി കൊട്ടാരം ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം
ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലയിൽ നെടുമുടി പഞ്ചായത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകളുടെ പഴക്കമുള്ള കൊട്ടാരം ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം ഒരു പ്രധാന തീർത്ഥാടന കേന്ദ്രമാണ്. ആലപ്പുഴ-ചങ്ങനാശേരി റൂട്ടിലെ പൂപ്പള്ളി ജംഗ്ഷനിൽ നിന്ന് ഏകദേശം ഒന്നര കിലോമീറ്റർ തെക്കുപടിഞ്ഞാറായി പുണ്യനദിയായ പമ്പയാറിന്റെ തീരത്ത് ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു.
പൂർവകാല വാസ്തുവിദ്യയുടെ മികവ് പ്രത്യക്ഷമായ ചുറ്റമ്പലവും നമസ്കാരമണ്ഡപവും ശ്രീകോവിലും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ആകർഷണങ്ങളാണ്. മുക്കാൽശിവലിംഗ ദുർഗാ ദേവിയാണ് പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠ, കിഴക്കോട്ട് ദർശനമേകുന്നു.
ബാലഗണപതി, യക്ഷിയമ്മ, ശിവൻ, ക്ഷേത്രപാലൻ, നാഗരാജാവ്, നാഗയക്ഷി തുടങ്ങിയ ഉപദേവതകളുടെ സാന്നിദ്ധ്യം ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ ഭക്തിസാന്ദ്രത കൂട്ടുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പൂജാവിധാനങ്ങൾ പ്രത്യേകമായി ശ്രദ്ധേയമാണ്. ദിവസവും മൂന്നു പൂജകളും ആറുനാഴി വഴിപാടും, മുഴുക്കാപ്പ്, നിറമാല തുടങ്ങിയ വഴിപാടുകളും വിശേഷതയാണ്. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ഉത്സവങ്ങളിൽ കുംഭമാസത്തിലെ തിരുവാതിര എട്ടുദിവസത്തെ കൊടിയേറ്റത്തോടെ ആരംഭിച്ച് ആറാട്ടിൽ സമാപിക്കുകയും വൃശ്ചികത്തിലെ കാർത്തിക സമൂഹ പൊങ്കാലയോടെ ഭക്തജനങ്ങളെ ആകർഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
മകരമാസത്തിലെ ഉത്രട്ടാതിയിൽ കളഭാഭിഷേകത്തോടെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠാ ദിനം ആഘോഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. കുംഭ-മീനം മാസങ്ങളിൽ കുംഭഭരണിയും മീനഭരണിയും വിളക്കെടുപ്പോടെ ശ്രദ്ധേയമാകുമ്പോൾ കർക്കടക വാവ് നമസ്കാരം പ്രത്യേക ഭക്തിസാന്ദ്രമായ ആചാരങ്ങളോടെയാണ് നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നത്. അഞ്ച് ദിവസത്തെ ഉത്സവത്തിനിടെ ഉത്സവബലി, വേലകളി, ആറാട്ട് എന്നിവയാണ് പ്രധാന ആകർഷണങ്ങൾ. ആറാട്ട്, ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനടുത്തുള്ള പുന്നേറ്റുമഠം കുളത്തിൽ നടക്കുന്ന ചടങ്ങാണ്, കൂടെ നൂറുകണക്കിന് ബാലികമാരുടെ വിളക്കെടുപ്പ് വിശേഷമാണ്.
