Marankulangara Sri Bhagavathy Temple is located 800 meters west of Kalavoor Junction along the Kochi National Highway in the Alappuzha district.
The primary deity worshipped at the temple is Goddess Bhagavathy. Within the Marankulangara Devi Temple, the Pranapratishta of Goddess Durga and Sri Bhadra is housed in twin sanctums. The main offerings at Durga's Matha include Trissatha and Palpayasam, with Mondays and Thursdays designated as special days for worship. Puja on Tuesdays and Fridays holds particular significance during the Matha of Sribhadrakali, where Arunazhi and Guruthi are also offered as special rituals.
Each Friday, a lime lamp is presented as the principal offering at both shrines to fulfill devotees' wishes. Inside the nalampalam, there is a shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, represented as Jnanaswarupa and Mangalamurthy, symbolizing the relationship between light and shadow. Adjacent to the Shivalayam, Gananayak, the son of Parvati, is enshrined in a separate sanctum, where devotees seek blessings from Lord Ganesha, the embodiment of the soul, for the realization of their aspirations. The specially constructed Shree Kovil on the temple wall embodies the spirit of Lord Vishnu, characterized by sattvabhava and auspiciousness.
The primary offerings for the Parthasarathy Bhava of Lord Arjuna's charioteer include Palpayasam and Trimadhuram. The Naga Deities, enshrined within a specially prepared enclosure following a rededication ceremony on June 3, 2022, serve as sub-deities. In addition to Lord Shiva's Nagaraja and Nagayakshi, the Ashtanaga Pratishtha is a significant offering on Ayilyam day, beneficial for Sarpa Preeti. The sannidhi of Kavutayon, the temple's guardian, along with the thara, the seat of Kotumkali, is well-maintained on the wall.
Additionally, the deity of Shivabhuta, Lord Arukola, and Gulikan in shastubhava, along with Brahmarakshas, are also enshrined within the wall. Visitors to the Navgraha Mandapam participate in puja on designated days to mitigate planetary influences. In addition to a one-day puja that serves as a birthday offering, annadanam is conducted every Friday. On Bharani day in Meenam, women present pongala to the goddess at the temple. The full moon puja also holds significant importance. The Trikodiyettu Mahotsavam, along with the subsequent temple festival related to the rededication, took place from June 7th to June 14th, 2022. Regular devotional Thiriptitham for the festival and the 7th Puja on the seventh day following the festival are also observed.

ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലയിൽ കൊച്ചി ദേശീയപാതയിലെ കലവൂർ ജംഗ്ഷനിൽ നിന്നും 800 മീറ്റർ പടിഞ്ഞാറ് യാത്രചെയ്താൽ ഐതിഹ്യപ്രസിദ്ധമായ മാരൻകുളങ്ങര ശ്രീ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ എത്തിച്ചേരാം. മധ്യകേരളത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ദേവീ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലൊന്നായ മാരൻകുളങ്ങര ശ്രീ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം പുരാതനമായ ചരിത്രം കൈവശം വയ്ക്കുന്നു. തൃശ്ശതവും, പാൽപ്പായസവും ദുർഗ്ഗയുടെ നടയിൽ പ്രധാനമായ വഴിപാടുകളാണ്. തിങ്കളും വ്യാഴവും ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ പ്രത്യേകമായ ദിവസങ്ങളാണ്. ശ്രീഭദ്രകാളിയുടെ നടയിൽ ചൊവ്വയും വെള്ളിയും ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ പൂജകൾ പ്രധാനമാണ്.
അറുനാഴിയും ഗുരുതിയും ഇവിടെ പ്രത്യേക വഴിപാടുകളായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. ദേവിമാരുടെ ഇരുനടകളിലും ഉദ്ധിഷ്ഠ കാര്യസാദ്ധ്യത്തിന് എല്ലാ വെള്ളിയാഴ്ചകളിലും നാരങ്ങാ വിളക്ക് പ്രധാനമായ വഴിപാടാണ്. നാലമ്പലത്തിനുള്ളിൽ ജ്ഞാനസ്വരൂപവും മംഗളമൂർത്തിയുമായ ശിവന്റെ ശ്രീകോവിലുമുണ്ട്. ദേവതമാരോടുള്ള ശിവ പദവി ഇവിടെ നിഴലും വെളിച്ചവും പോലെ അനുഭവപ്പെടുന്നു. ശിവാലയത്തിന് സമീപം ഗണനായകനായ പാർവതി തനയൻ പ്രത്യേകമായി ശ്രീകോവിലിൽ ഉപവിഷ്ടനായി ഉണ്ട്. ഉദ്ധിഷ്ഠ കാര്യസാദ്ധ്യത്തിനായി പ്രണവ സാക്ഷാത്കാരമായ ശ്രീ ഗണപതിയെ ഭക്തജനങ്ങൾ ആഴത്തിൽ പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുന്നു.
ക്ഷേത്രമതിൽപ്പുറത്ത് പ്രത്യേകമായി പണിതീർത്ത ഗർഭശ്രീകോവിലിനുള്ളിൽ സത്വഭാവവും സ്ഥിതികരകനുമായ മഹാവിഷ്ണുവിന്റെ ചൈതന്യം നിറഞ്ഞു നിൽക്കുന്നു. അർജ്ജുനന്റെ തേരാളിയായ ഭഗവാൻറെ ഈ പാർത്ഥസാരഥി ഭാവത്തിന് പാൽപ്പായസവും തൃമധുരവും സമർപ്പിക്കുന്നു. നാഗദൈവങ്ങൾ ഉപദേവതാ സ്ഥാനത്ത് ഉപവിഷ്ടരായിരിക്കുന്നു. ശിവാഭരണമായ നാഗരാജാവും നാഗയക്ഷിയും കൂടാതെ, ഇവിടെ അഷ്ടനാഗ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയും ആയില്യം നാളിലെ വിശേഷ വഴിപാടുകൾ സർപ്പ പ്രീതിക്ക് ഏറ്റവും അനുയോജ്യമാണ്. ക്ഷേത്രസംരക്ഷകനും പരിപാലകനുമായ കാവുടയോൻറെ സന്നിധി, കൊടുംകാളിയുടെ ആസ്ഥാനമായ തറയോടു ചേർന്ന്, മതിലപ്പുറത്ത് സുഭദ്രമായി സംരക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
ശിവഭൂത ഗണനാഥനായ അറുകൊലയുടെയും ശാസ്തുഭാവത്തിലുള്ള ഗുളികൻറെയും പ്രതിഷ്ഠ കൂടാതെ, മതിലകത്ത് ബ്രഹ്മരക്ഷസിനെയും കുടിയിരുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഭക്തജനങ്ങൾ ഗ്രഹദോഷം നീക്കുന്നതിനായി നിശ്ചിത ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ നവഗ്രഹമണ്ഡപത്തിൽ പൂജയ്ക്കായി എത്തുന്നു. പിറന്നാൾ ദിനത്തിൽ ഒരു പ്രത്യേക വഴിപാടായി നടത്തുന്ന ദിന പൂജയോടൊപ്പം, എല്ലാ വെള്ളിയാഴ്ചകളും അന്നദാനം ഇവിടെ പതിവായി നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. മീനത്തിലെ ഭരണി നാളിൽ സ്ത്രീകൾ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ദേവിക്ക് പൊങ്കാല സമർപ്പിക്കുന്നു. പൗർണ്ണമി പൂജയും അത്യന്തം പ്രധാനമാണ്.
