Mattom Narasimha Swamy Temple is situated along the Harippad, Mavelikara road in the Allappuzha district.
The principal deity revered in this temple is the four-armed Narasimha, also known as Chaturbahu.The darshan of Mattom Narasimha Swamy faces east. The temple features a circular sanctum sanctorum. The Upa Devatas honored within the temple include Shiva, Sri Krishna, and Yakshi. Attavishesham, an annual festival, is celebrated on Vishu day.
It is believed that the murthi served as the Upasana murthi for the Odanadu kings. The temple is referenced in the 14th-century text Unnineeli Sandesham. Scholars suggest that the name "Mattom" may derive from the area's historical association with a barter system, indicating that Vishumattam, or the exchange of goods during Vishu, likely took place here.

നരസിംഹസ്വാമിക്കു പുറമെ, കൃഷ്ണൻ മുഖമണ്ഡപത്തോടൊപ്പം, സ്വാമിയാർനട, യക്ഷി എന്നിവയും ഇവിടെ ഉപദേവതകളായി ഉണ്ട്. തിരുവിതാംകൂർ ദേവസ്വം ബോഡിന്റെ നിയന്ത്രണത്തിലാണു ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം.ഈ വിഗ്രഹം ഓടനാട് രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ ആരാധനാ പ്രതീകമായിരുന്നു എന്നതാണ് വിശ്വാസം. 14-ാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിലെ ഉണ്ണിനീലി സന്ദേശത്തിൽ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തെ സംബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള വിവരങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട്.
