Padinjare Kottarm Sri Dharmashasta Temple is located approximately 300 meters south of the railway crossing, on the western side of Tanki Junction, and is situated 2 kilometers north of the Cherthala railway station.
Padinjare Kottarm Sri Dharmashasta Temple is dedicated to Lord Dharmasastha. Countless devotees visit this temple seeking relief from Shanidosha. Sri Bhagavati, the primordial deity who bestows a favorable year for the alleviation of Mangallya dosha, Nedumangallyam, and prosperity, is enshrined facing the ocean of milk (പാലാഴി). The temple also honors sub-deities such as Sri Paramashivan, Sri Ganapati, Brahmarakshas, and the serpent gods.
The temple features a copper flagpole, gajamandapam, stage, and auditorium. The Devaswom Governing Body comprises members from both Karyogas. One karayogam is led by the Devaswom president, while the other is overseen by the Vice-President. The Temple Committee Secretary serves as the Devaswom secretary, and a committee member is designated as the Devaswom Kalavara.

ചേർത്തല റെയിൽവേ സ്റ്റേഷനിൽ നിന്ന് 2 കിലോമീറ്റർ വടക്കായി, തങ്കി കവലയുടെ പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ഭാഗത്ത് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന റെയിൽവേ ക്രോസിൽ നിന്ന് ഏകദേശം 300 മീറ്റർ തെക്കായി ഈ പുരാതന പടിഞ്ഞാറേ കൊട്ടാരം, ശ്രീ ധർമശാസ്താ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. കലിയുഗവരദൻ, ആപത്ത് ബാന്ധവൻ, അന്നദാനപ്രഭു, ആശ്രിതവത്സലൻ എന്നീ വിശേഷണങ്ങളുള്ള ശ്രീധർമ്മശാസ്താവ് ശനീശ്വരചൈതന്യത്തോടെ ഇവിടെ സാന്നിധ്യമുണ്ട്.
ശനിദോഷം പരിഹരിക്കാൻ അനേകം ഭക്തർ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ എത്തുന്നു. മംഗല്ല്യദോഷം നിവാരണത്തിനും നെടുമംഗല്ല്യത്തിനും ഐശ്വര്യത്തിന്റെ വർദ്ധനവിനായി അനുഗ്രഹവർഷം നൽകുന്ന ആദിപ്രതിഷ്ഠയായ ശ്രീഭഗവതി പാൽക്കടലിന്റെ ദിശയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. ശ്രീപരമശിവൻ, ശ്രീഗണപതി, ബ്രഹ്മരക്ഷസ്സ്, സർപ്പദൈവങ്ങൾ എന്നിവരും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ആരാധിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ചെമ്പ് കൊണ്ടുള്ള കൊടിമരം, ഗജമണ്ഡപം, സ്റ്റേജ് എന്നിവയും കാണാം. പടിഞ്ഞാറെ കൊട്ടാരം ദേവസ്വം 1608, 1621 എന്ന എൻ.എസ്സ്.എസ്സ്. കരയോഗങ്ങളുടെ സംയുക്താഭിമുഖ്യത്തിൽ 89/91 നമ്പരായി രജിസ്റ്റർ ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ളതാണ്.
ഈ ദേവസ്വം പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ നടത്തിവരുന്നു. ഇരുവരുടെയും ഭരണസമിതികൾ ദേവസ്വം ഭരണസമിതിയിൽ ഉൾപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. ഒരു കരയോഗത്തിന്റെ പ്രസിഡൻറ് ദേവസ്വം പ്രസിഡൻറും, മറ്റെ കരയോഗത്തിന്റെ പ്രസിഡൻറ് വൈ. പ്രസിഡൻറും ആയിരിക്കും. സെക്രട്ടറി ദേവസ്വം സെക്രട്ടറിയായിരിക്കും. ദേവസ്വം കലവറയിൽ ഒരു കമ്മറ്റി അംഗം ചുമതല നിർവ്വഹിക്കുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് വളരെ വിശാലമായ ഒരു ആഡിറോറിയം ലഭ്യമാണ്.
