Pathiramkulangara Devi temple is situated approximately 3 kilometers from Haripad in the Alappuzha district. This temple is dedicated to the deity Bhadrakali and is managed by the Travancore Devaswom Board.
Navarathri, Mandala Kalam, the Re-consecration Anniversary, Karkitakavavubali, Ramayana Masacharan, and Devi Bhagavata Yajnam are the temple's key observances. An essential feature of this temple is the grand Guruthi, for which Guruthikalam is prepared by making turmeric and lime-filled dumplings. Kalamezhuthum Pattum is a prominent ritual here, attracting large numbers of devotees each year. It’s a significant ritual in Bhagavathy temples and traditionally performed in Bhadrakali temples, though it has now become common in many Mother Goddess temples.
Following the creation of the kalam (or kolam), Bhadrakalipattu is performed. Rituals such as Kalamezhuthum Pattum, Mudiyattu, Theeyattu, Kolam Thullal, Sarpam Thullal, and Pana are integral to this practice, primarily conducted for deities like Bhadrakali, Ayyappan, and Nagas. In some communities, drawing the kalam is also a traditional family right.

ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട പൂജകളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് ഗുരുതി പൂജ, ഇത് ദേവിയെ പ്രീതിപ്പെടുത്താനുള്ള ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. അത്താഴപൂജയ്ക്ക് ശേഷം ഈ പൂജ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. ഭദ്രകാളി രൗദ്രഭാവത്തിൽ ഉള്ളതിനാൽ ഇവിടെ ഗുരുതി പൂജ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു എന്നതാണ് വിശ്വാസം. മാനസീകാസ്വാസ്ഥ്യങ്ങളും സ്വഭാവ ദൂഷ്യങ്ങളും ഗുരുതി പൂജയിലൂടെ മാറുമെന്ന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ആണ്ടുതോറും നടക്കുന്ന കളമെഴുത്തും പാട്ടും കാണാൻ നിരവധി ഭക്തജനങ്ങൾ എത്തിച്ചേരുന്നു. ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്ന പ്രധാന അനുഷ്ഠാനങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് കളമെഴുത്തും പാട്ടും, ഇത് നാടിന്റെ ജനങ്ങളുടെ നന്മയ്ക്കായി നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.
