Puthenkavu Sree Bhagavathi Temple is located along the route to Thiruvalla, passing through Ambalapuzha, Thakazhi, and Edathwa in the Alappuzha district. Paripad Puthankavu Bhagavathy Temple is positioned on the banks of the Manimalayar, which is a tributary of the Pampa River.
Puthenkavu Sree Bhagavathi Temple is accessible via the Changanassery - Kaviyoor road. It serves as the principal temple, featuring the Chathura sanctum sanctorum, nalampalam, namaskara mandapam, and various shrines dedicated to sub-deities. The deities worshiped in this temple include Ganapati, Shiva, Yakshi, Nagaraja, Murthy, and Rakshas.
Paipadu temple is renowned as one of the ancient Bhagavathy temples located in the Alappuzha district. The Paipadu Jlotsavam is particularly famous along the Paipad River, highlighted by a boat race that takes place during the month of Chingam. The annual festival is celebrated on Bharani day in the month of Meenam, commencing with the hoisting of the flag and concluding with the Aaratu ceremony. This festival features elephants, fairs, vibrant processions, and traditional temple art forms of Kerala.
A significant highlight of the annual festival is Kalamezhuthum Pattum. During this time, Devi visits the homes in Payipad to collect the 'Para.' Padayani and other rituals are integral to the festival, with Kalamezhuthum Pattum and the temple procession being among the most significant celebrations in comparison to nearby temples. Additionally, the annual Pongala festival occurs on Makara Bharani day, which falls between January and February.

ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലയിൽ അമ്പലപ്പുഴ – തകഴി - എടത്വാ വഴി തിരുവല്ലയിലേക്ക് പോകുന്ന വഴിയിലാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. തലവടിയിൽ നിന്നും 4.4 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെ, പമ്പാനദിയുടെ പോഷക നദിയായ മണിമലയാറിന്റെ തീരത്താണ് മനോഹരമായ പായിപ്പാട് പുത്തൻകാവ് ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ചങ്ങനാശ്ശേരി - കവിയൂർ റോഡിലൂടെ കൂടി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെത്താൻ സാധിക്കും.
ചതുര ശ്രീകോവിൽ, നാലമ്പലം, നമസ്കാര മണ്ഡപം, ഉപദേവതകളുടെ ആരാധനാലയങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന പ്രധാന ക്ഷേത്രമാണിത്. ഗണപതി, ശിവൻ, യക്ഷി, നാഗരാജാവ്, മൂർത്തി, രക്ഷസ് എന്നിവയാണ് ഇവിടെ ആരാധിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ഉപദേവതകൾ. പായിപ്പാടാറ്റിൽ എല്ലാ ചിങ്ങമാസത്തിലും നടക്കുന്ന പായിപ്പാട് ജലോത്സവം ഏറെ പ്രശസ്തമാണ്. മീനമാസത്തിലെ ഭരണി നാളിൽ വാർഷിക ഉത്സവം ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു.
കൊടിയേറ്റത്തോടെ ആരംഭിക്കുന്ന ഈ ഉത്സവം ആറാട്ടു ചടങ്ങോടെ സമാപിക്കുന്നു. ആനകൾ, മേളം, വർണ്ണാഭമായ ഘോഷയാത്ര, കേരളത്തിലെ പരമ്പരാഗത ക്ഷേത്ര കലാരൂപങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ ഈ വാർഷിക ഉത്സവത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമാണ്. കളമെഴുത്ത് പാട്ട് ഈ ഉത്സവത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന ആകർഷണമാണ്. ഉത്സവകാലത്ത് ദേവി ദേശത്തെ വീടുകൾ സന്ദർശിച്ച് പറ എടുക്കുന്നു. പടയണിയും മറ്റ് ആചാരങ്ങളും ഈ വാർഷിക ഉത്സവത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമാണ്. സമീപത്തെ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളെ അപേക്ഷിച്ച്, ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ കളമെഴുത്തും പാട്ടും ഘോഷയാത്രയും ആഘോഷങ്ങളിൽ ഏറ്റവും പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ടവയാണ്.
മകര ഭരണി നാളിൽ (ജനുവരി - ഫെബ്രുവരി) വാർഷിക പൊങ്കാല മഹോത്സവം നടക്കുന്നു. ചിങ്ങമാസത്തിലെ തിരുവോണം, അവിട്ടം, ചതയം നാളുകളിൽ പായിപ്പാട് ആറിൽ നടക്കുന്ന ജലോത്സവമാണ് പായിപ്പാട് ജലോത്സവം. ഈ ജലോത്സവം ഹരിപ്പാട് സുബ്രമണ്യ സ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രവുമായി ഐതിഹ്യപരമായ ബന്ധം പുലർത്തുന്നു. ഹരിപ്പാട് ഗ്രാമത്തിലെ ജനങ്ങൾ ഒരു അയ്യപ്പക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥാപിക്കാൻ തീരുമാനിച്ചു.
വിഗ്രഹം സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതിന് മുമ്പ്, സുബ്രമണ്യ സ്വാമിയുടെ വിഗ്രഹം കായംകുളം നദിയിൽ ഉണ്ടെന്ന് ചിലർക്ക് സ്വപ്നം കാണപ്പെട്ടു. നദിയിലെ ഒരു ചുഴിയിൽ വിഗ്രഹം കിടക്കുന്നതായി സ്വപ്നം പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു. ഈ സ്വപ്നത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ, വിഗ്രഹം കണ്ടെത്തിയ ജനങ്ങൾ ജലത്തിലൂടെ ഒരു ഘോഷയാത്രയായി അനേകം വള്ളങ്ങളുടെ അകമ്പടിയോടെ അലങ്കരിച്ച വള്ളത്തിൽ വിഗ്രഹം ഹരിപ്പാടേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. ഈ യാത്രയുടെ ഓർമ്മക്കായി എല്ലാ വർഷവും പ്രശസ്തമായ പായിപ്പാട് ജലോത്സവം നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.
