Puthiyaveettil Sree Hanumal Temple is located 2 kilometers west of Kalavur Junction along the Alappuzha-Eranakulam National Highway in the Alappuzha district. This temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman.
The temple is distinguished by the Hanumal deity, which is positioned in front of the Sri Rama Sannidhi within the west-facing shrine. Historically, directly across from the current temple site was an ancient 'Nalpatheerati kalari' where martial arts were practiced. According to legend, Hanumal manifested on a sapling located on the opposite side of the Kalari, where devotees worshipped this divine presence along with various sub-deities.
Subsequently, a temple was constructed at the location of the sapling, and the Anjaneya Pratishtha ceremony was performed. The temple is dedicated to several deities, including Ganapati, Shasta, Bhuvaneshwari, Brahmarakshas, Nagaraja, Nagayakshi, and Bhadrakali. Wednesdays and Saturdays hold particular significance at the temple, as devotees gather to participate in Prasadamoot, the food offering. Each week, these offerings include Vallamkudi, Vadamala, Betel mala, Lemon mala, Avilpantirunazhi, Malar Nivedya, Kunkumam Charth, and Venna Muzhukkap.
Among these, Vallamkudi is a notable offering presented by Ilanir, accompanied by Aval, Malar, and Terali, and is primarily dedicated to honoring Anjaneya.
Additionally, a unique and highly significant offering is the Pushpabhishekam, or flower covering, which occurs only once a year during Hanumat Jayanti, the temple's festival. Anjaneya Swamy's Jayanti is celebrated on Chitrapournami in the month of Chaitra. Anjaneya Homa and Hanumat Chalisa were conducted at Kshetra on the first Wednesday of each month last year as a significant offering. The Anjaneyahomam is distinctive to Kerala and is performed in a particularly unique manner. This ritual serves as a special offering aimed at addressing Shanidosha, promoting physical and mental strength, and achieving success in specific endeavors.
Lord Shani has pledged to Anjaneya Swami that devotees of Anjaneya will remain unaffected by Shani's influence. It is believed that one-third of an individual's life is illuminated by Shani, making Anjaneya Bhajan a highly revered practice. Both Anjaneya Homa and the recitation of Hanumat Chalisa are considered vital and meaningful offerings within this context. On the first Wednesday of each month in the English calendar, various homams are conducted, including Ashtadravya Mahaganapati Homam, Gayatri Homam, Mahamrityanjaya Homam, Aikya Matyasukta Homam, Bhagyasukta Homam, Swayamvara Parvati Homam, Dhanwantari Homam, Sudarshana Homam, and Agneyatrishtap Homam, among others. These rituals address a range of issues such as distress, health challenges, obstacles to marriage, educational difficulties, job-related barriers, and business troubles, offering invoked solutions for these concerns.

ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലയിലെ ആലപ്പുഴ-എറണാകുളം ദേശീയ പാതയിൽ കലവൂർ ജംഗ്ഷനിൽ നിന്നും 2 കിലോമീറ്റർ പടിഞ്ഞാറ്, കലവൂർ റെയിൽവേ സ്റ്റേഷനോട് ചേർന്നുള്ള ശ്രീകോവിലിൽ ശ്രീരാമ സന്നിധിയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഹനുമൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന ആകർഷണം. ക്ഷേത്രം നിൽക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്ത്, ആയോധനകലകൾ അഭ്യസിച്ചിരുന്ന പുരാതന 'നാല്പത്തീരടികളരി' നിലനിന്നിരുന്നു. കളരിയുടെ എതിർ വശത്ത് ഒരു ഞാവൽ വ്യക്ഷത്തിൽ ഹനുമൽ സാന്നിധ്യം കാണപ്പെട്ടതായി പറയപ്പെടുന്നു.

വെള്ളംകുടി, വടമാല, വെറ്റിലമാല, നാരങ്ങാമാല, അവിൽപന്തിരുനാഴി, മലർ നിവേദ്യം, കുങ്കുമം ചാർത്ത്, വെണ്ണ മുഴുക്കാപ്പ് എന്നിവയാണ് ഇവിടെ പ്രധാനമായ വഴിപാടുകൾ. അവൽ, മലർ, തെരളി എന്നിവയോടൊപ്പം ഇളനീർ നിവേദിക്കുന്ന പ്രത്യേക വഴിപാടാണ് വെള്ളംകുടി.
