Shaarngakkav (Chamakau) Devi Temple is a revered and sacred site, recognized as the ancient and renowned abode of Adiparashakti. It is situated along the banks of Achankovilar in Venmani village, which is located near Panthalam in the Chengannur taluk of the Alappuzha district.
The deities honored in the temple include Ganapathy and the Navagrahas. The offerings presented in the temple consist of kadum payasam and vella choru. It is believed that a significant portion of the temple lies beneath the water. The renowned annual festival at the temple takes place on Vishu day.
This shrine, also referred to as Chamakkavu, is situated along the banks of the Achankovil River. The temple is particularly noted for the monkeys that inhabit the groves surrounding it. Key offerings include Niramala, Slave Trafficking, Enemy Killing Pushpanjali, Bhagya Suktarchana, Tirali offering, Muzhukapp, Arakapp, Puspanjali, Rakta Puspanjali, and Annadanam. The annual festival is well-known for Kettukazhcha, which features theru, kuthira, and kala, with kuthiras arriving on two boats that are tied together.

ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലയിലെ ചെങ്ങന്നൂർ താലൂക്കിലെ പന്തളത്തിന് സമീപമുള്ള വെണ്മണി ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ശാർങ്ങക്കാവ് (ചാമക്കാവ്) ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രം, അച്ചൻകോവിലാറിന്റെ തീരത്തുള്ള ഒരു അതിപുരാതനവും പ്രശസ്തവുമായ ആദിപരാശക്തി കുടികൊള്ളുന്ന പുണ്യ ക്ഷേത്രമാണ്.

നിറമാല, അടിമ കടത്തൽ, ശത്രു സംഹാര പുഷ്പാഞ്ജലി, ഭാഗ്യ സുക്താർച്ചന, തിരളി വഴിപാട്, മുഴുക്കാപ്പ്, അരക്കാപ്പ്, പുഷ്പാഞ്ജലി, രക്ത പുഷ്പാഞ്ജലി, അന്നദാനം. വാനരന്മാർ തിരുമക്കൾ എന്ന വിശ്വാസം ഉള്ള കേരളത്തിലെ അപൂർവ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് ഇത്, ഇവിടെ വാനരന്മാർക്ക് പ്രത്യേക സ്ഥാനം നൽകുന്നു. മദ്ധ്യ തിരുവിതാംകൂറിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ വിഷു ഉത്സവം വെണ്മണിയിലെ ശാർങ്ങക്കാവിലാണ് (ചാമക്കാവ്). വിഷു ദിനത്തിൽ, കെട്ടുകാഴ്ചകളോടെ, വെണ്മണിയിലെ വിവിധ കരകളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ഭക്തർ ഇവിടെ എത്തിച്ചേരുന്നു.
