Sree Narayanapuram Thrikayil Temple, situated in Chengannur Perissery within the Alappuzha district, is an ancient place of worship believed to be approximately 1200 years old.
The sacred idol situated here embodies the enchanting form of Krishna, characterized by four radiant arms that hold the conch, discus, mace, and lotus. Adorned with a divine Thulasi garland and pearl necklaces, this idol reflects the majestic visage of Vishnu as revealed to Vasudeva and Devaki during the Krishnavatharam. According to tradition, the idol housed in this temple is approximately 1500 years old. An annual festival takes place in Makkaram, spanning eight days.
The celebration culminates in the Aarattu Mahotsavam, which involves the immersion of procession idols in the river and the subsequent return of the idol to the temple. Additional festivals celebrated at the temple include Ashtamirohini, Navarathri Mahotsavam, Thiruvonamuttu, Deepavali, Sivarathri, and Vishu Mandala Vratham.
Following the puja on festival days, Annadanam, which is the offering of free food to devotees, is conducted in various temples across India. Significant pujas performed in the temple comprise Pushpanjali, Thrikkaivenna, Pal Payasam, Kadalippazha Nivedyam, and Thirumadhuram. Each puja is carried out with the recitation of the appropriate mantras.
ശ്രീ നാരായണപുരം തൃക്കയിൽ ക്ഷേത്രം
ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലയിൽ ചെങ്ങന്നൂർ പേരിശ്ശേരിയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പുരാതന ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് ശ്രീ നാരായണപുരം തൃക്കയിൽ ക്ഷേത്രം. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ പഴക്കം ഏകദേശം 1200 വർഷമായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. പെരിശ്ശേരിയിലെ ഏറ്റവും പഴക്കമുള്ള ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലൊന്നായ ശ്രീനാരായണപുരം തൃക്കയിൽ ക്ഷേത്രം, ദിവ്യ വിഗ്രഹം ശംഖ്, ചക്രം, ഗദ, പങ്കജം എന്നിവ കൈവശമുള്ള നാല് തിളങ്ങുന്ന കൈകളാൽ സമ്പന്നമായ ശ്രീ കൃഷ്ണന്റെ മനോഹരമായ രൂപത്തെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിക്കുന്നു.
ദിവ്യമായ തുളസിമാലയും മുത്തുമാലയും കൊണ്ട് അലങ്കരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ വിഗ്രഹം കൃഷ്ണാവതാര സമയത്ത് വസുദേവനും ദേവകിക്കും വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയ വിഷ്ണുവിന്റെ മഹാനായ രൂപത്തെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിക്കുന്നു. ഉപദേവന്മാരായി ശ്രീമഹാദേവൻ, ഗണപതി, നാഗദൈവങ്ങൾ എന്നിവർക്കും പ്രത്യേക നടകൾ ഉണ്ട്. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന വിശേഷ ദിവസങ്ങൾ: വൃശ്ചികമാസത്തിലെ പന്ത്രണ്ട് വിളക്ക് മഹോത്സവം, ശ്രീമദ് ഭാഗവത സപ്താഹ യജ്ഞം, ദശാവതാര ചാർത്ത്, ജ്ഞാനപ്പാന യജ്ഞം, അഷ്ടമിരോഹിണി, മേടത്തിലെ വിഷു, മണ്ഡലക്കാലം, മകരവിളക്ക്, നവരാത്രി, വിദ്യാരംഭം, ആയില്യപൂജ എന്നിവയാണ്.
വൃശ്ചികമാസത്തിലെ പന്ത്രണ്ട് വിളക്ക് മഹോത്സവം, ശ്രീമദ് ഭാഗവത സപ്താഹ യജ്ഞം, ദശാവതാര ചാർത്ത് എന്നിവ വളരെ ആകർഷകമായി ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു. വൃശ്ചികം 1 മുതൽ 12 ദിവസങ്ങളോളം വിളക്ക് നീണ്ടുനിൽക്കുന്നു. ഈ ഉത്സവകാലത്ത് ജാതിമതഭേദമന്യേ ക്ഷേത്രസങ്കേതത്തിൽ എല്ലാവരും ചേർന്ന് ക്ഷേത്രവും പരിസരങ്ങളും ദീപങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ട് അലങ്കരിക്കുന്നു.
