Thalikal Mahadeva Temple is located in Kotakkakam kara within Pallipad village, to the east of Haripad, in the Kartikappalli taluk of the Alappuzha district.
This renowned temple is one of the one hundred and eight Shiva temples founded by the sage Parasurama.Shiva temples are frequently referred to as thali. Numerous renowned thali temples can be found in Kerala. The designation 'Talikal' for this region is likely attributed to the existence of this temple. Within this temple, various religious activities take place, including Bhagavata Saptaham, Akhandanam Japa, and the recitation of the Ramayana during the month of Karkitaka.
Other significant rituals include Ganapati Homam, Bhagavati Seva, Vinayaka Chaturthi, Mahaganapati Homam, and Pujavaippu in the month of Kanni. Additionally, Devi Bhagavata parayanam, special pujas for Ayyappan during the Mandala period, Pushpanjali, Sarvaihwarya Puja, Trikala homas, and Trikala pujas are conducted. All devotees are warmly invited to seek the blessings of Sri Thalikal Mahadev through the performance of Avatar Pujas. Shivaratri stands as the principal festival celebrated at this temple. The temple also honors several sub-deities, including Goddess Parvati, Ganesha, Subrahmanya, Ayyappan, Yakshi, and Nagas.

ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലയിലെ കാർത്തികപ്പള്ളി താലുക്കിൽ ഹരിപ്പാടിനു കിഴക്ക് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പള്ളിപ്പാട് ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ, കോട്ടക്കകം കരയിൽ തളിക്കൽ മഹാദേവ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. പരശുരാമൻ സ്ഥാപിച്ച നൂറ്റെട്ട ശിവക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നായ തളിക്കൽ മഹാദേവ ക്ഷേത്രം, കേരളത്തിലെ പ്രാചീന ശിവക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു. ജീർണ്ണാവസ്ഥയിലായിരുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം, അടുത്ത കാലത്ത് ഭഗവാന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹത്താൽ, ഭക്തജനങ്ങളുടെയും ക്ഷേത്രബന്ധുക്കളുടെയും സഹകരണത്തോടെ നവീകരണ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ നടത്തി.
ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ഭാഗവത സപ്താഹം, അഖണ്ഡനാമജപം, കർക്കിടക മാസത്തിൽ രാമായണം വായന, ഗണപതി ഹോമം, ഭഗവതി സേവ, വിനായക ചതുർത്ഥി, മഹാഗണപതി ഹോമം, കന്നി മാസത്തിൽ പൂജവയ്പ്, ദേവീ ഭാഗവത പാരായണം, മണ്ഡലക്കാലത്ത് അയ്യപ്പനു പ്രത്യേക പൂജകൾ, പുഷ്പാഞ്ജലി എന്നിവ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.ശിവരാത്രി ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ മുഖ്യ ആഘോഷമാണ്. ഉപദേവതകൾ: പാർവതി ദേവി, ഗണപതി, സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യൻ, അയ്യപ്പൻ, യക്ഷി, നാഗങ്ങൾ.
