Panavalli is a village situated in the Thykkatussery block of the Cherthala taluk within the Alappuzha district, renowned for housing the esteemed Thaliaparambu Devi temple, which is dedicated to the goddess Bhagavathy.
Thaliaparam Devi Temple is a renowned temple located in Panavalli. The temple's annual festival takes place during the Malayalam month of Meena, which corresponds to March and April. This temple exemplifies the traditional Kerala architectural style, featuring an Anakottil, Kodimaram, Nalambalam, Namaskara Mandapam, a pond, and shrines dedicated to various upa devatas.
Notably, the temple has a chathura sreekovil that faces west. The annual festival is distinguished by a variety of significant Tantric rituals and pujas. പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ട് ദർശനമായ ചതുര ശ്രീകോവിലേക്കാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ പ്രവേശനം. വാർഷിക ഉത്സവം വിവിധ പ്രധാന താന്ത്രിക ചടങ്ങുകൾക്കും പൂജകൾക്കും പ്രശസ്തമാണ്. എഴുന്നള്ളത്ത്, കലവറവ്, ആനകൾ, മേളം, കേരളത്തിലെ പരമ്പരാഗത കലാരൂപങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ ഉത്സവത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗങ്ങളാണ്. കലാംകരി ആചാരം ആഘോഷങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു പ്രധാന ഘടകമാണ്. കൊടിയേറ്റത്തോടെ ആരംഭിക്കുന്ന വാർഷിക ഉത്സവം ആറാട്ടു ചടങ്ങോടെ സമാപിക്കുന്നു. അട പുഴുങ്ങലും, തിരിപിടുത്തവും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ആചാരങ്ങളാണ്.
