From Mararikulam Junction on the Alappuzha-Cherthala highway, travel approximately 1.3 km via Muhamma Road to reach the renowned S.L. Puram Thayyil Shakthipuram Devi Temple, where the main deity, Bhadrakali, faces east.
The Goddess is revered as the creator, preserver, and destroyer. The temple features several components, including the Nalampalam, a square shrine, a temple pool, and the Namaskara mandapam, along with shrines dedicated to sub-deities. Administration of this temple falls under the S.L. Puram West Perumthuruth S.N.D.P. Yogam 535 branch.
The annual festival is celebrated in the month of Meenam. During this time, the shrine is adorned with plantain, tender coconut leaves, flowers, foliage, traditional lamps, and lights. The temple grounds are filled with thousands of devotees from various regions who gather to experience this magnificent festival. Rituals such as Kazhcha Sribali, decorative lamp worship, Deepakazhcha, Arikooth, Aarattu Varavu, and Valiya Kanikka are integral parts of the celebration.
In addition to this, various cultural programs and events are held during the festival days. The final day features the Arattu, or holy bath, during which the utsava murti of the deity is taken from the shrine for ritual bathing. The annual festival includes caparisoned elephants, melam, kodiyetam, kodiirakkam, ezhunnallathu, thalapoli, jivitha ezhunnallathu, varna kazhchakal, a range of art programs, and parayeduppu. Key special days at the temple include Saptaham,Kalasham, Navaratri Pooja, Trikarthika Lamp, Mandala Kalam, and Ramayana Masacharam.
തയ്യിൽ ശക്തിപുരം ദേവീ ക്ഷേത്രം
ആലപ്പുഴയിൽനിന്നും ചേർത്തലയിലേക്ക് പോകുന്ന വഴിയിൽ, ദേശീയപാതയിലെ മാരാരിക്കുളം ജംഗ്ഷനിൽ നിന്നും മുഹമ്മ റോഡ് വഴി ഏകദേശം 1.3 കിലോമീറ്റർ യാത്ര ചെയ്താൽ എസ്.എൽ.പുരം തായിൽ ശക്തിപുരം ദേവീ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെത്താം. കിഴക്കോട്ട് ദർശനമായുള്ള ഭദ്രകാളിയാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠ. എസ്.എൽ.പുരം പെരുംതുരുത്ത് പടിഞ്ഞാറ് എസ്.എൻ.ഡി.പി. 535-ാം ശാഖയുടെ ഭരണത്തിൽ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു.
മീന ഭരണി സമയത്ത് വാർഷിക ഉത്സവം ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു. കാഴ്ചശ്രീബലി, അലങ്കാര ദീപാരാധന, ദീപക്കാഴ്ച, അരിക്കൂത്ത്, ആറാട്ട് വരവ്, വലിയ കാണിക്ക എന്നിവ ഉത്സവത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി ആചാരാനുഷ്ടാനങ്ങളോടെ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.
നാലമ്പലം, ചതുര ശ്രീകോവിൽ, ക്ഷേത്രക്കുളം, നമസ്കാര മണ്ഡപം എന്നിവയുള്ള ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് ചുറ്റും ഉപദേവതകൾക്കായുള്ള കോവിലുകളും കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. ആന, മേളം, കൊടിയേറ്റം, കൊടിയിറക്കം, എഴുന്നള്ളത്ത്, താലപ്പൊലി, ജീവിത എഴുന്നള്ളത്ത്, വർണ്ണക്കാഴ്ചകൾ, വിവിധ കലാപരിപാടികൾ, പറയെടുപ്പ് എന്നിവ വാർഷിക ഉത്സവത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗങ്ങളാണ്. സപ്താഹം, ക്ഷേത്രകലശം, നവരാത്രി പൂജകൾ, തൃക്കാർത്തിക വിളക്ക്, മണ്ഡലകാലം, രാമായണമാസാചരണം എന്നിവ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന വിശേഷ ദിവസങ്ങളാണ്.
