Varekadu Kurumba Bhagavathi Temple is situated along the Cherthala Arookutty road in Poochakkal, within the Alappuzha district of Kerala. This temple is devoted to Goddess Bhagavathi.
Varekadu Kurumba Bhagavathi Temple's annual festival takes place on Kumbha Bharani day (February–March) and is renowned for its unique pujas and rituals. This beautiful Kerala-style temple features a serene pond in front of the shrine and traditional architecture, including a chathura sreekovil, kodimaram, nalambalam, namaskara mandapam, and upa devata shrines, along with an additional shrine facing the opposite direction outside the main temple.
During the festival, the temple is beautifully decorated with lamps and lights, and highlights include ezhunellipu, temple art performances, and processions. Thrikarthika and Navratri are also celebrated as significant events in the temple.
വരേക്കാട് ശ്രീ കുറുമ്പ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം
ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലയിലെ ചേർത്തല–അരൂക്കുറ്റി റോഡിലെ പൂച്ചാക്കലിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന വരേക്കാട് കുറുംബ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം ഭഗവതി ദേവിക്കായി സമർപ്പിച്ച കേരള ശൈലിയിലുള്ള മനോഹര ക്ഷേത്രമാണ്. ഇവിടെ ചതുര് ശ്രീകോവിൽ, കൊടിമരം, നാലമ്പലം, നമസ്കാര മണ്ഡപം, ഉപദേവതാ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ, പ്രധാന ശ്രീകോവിലിന് പുറത്തായി എതിർ ദിശയിൽ അഭിമുഖമായ ഒരു ശ്രീകോവിൽ എന്നിവ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു. ശ്രീകോവിലിനു മുന്നിലായി മനോഹരമായ ഒരു കുളവും ഉണ്ട്.
കുറുമ്പകാവിലമ്മയുടെ ജന്മനാളായ മീന മാസത്തിലെ (മാർച്ച്/ഏപ്രിൽ) ഭരണി നക്ഷത്രത്തിൽ ആചരിക്കുന്ന "മീന ഭരണി" ഉത്സവം ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ മുഖ്യ ആഘോഷമാണ്. കൂടാതെ കർക്കിടകം മാസത്തിൽ പ്രത്യേക പൂജകളും രാമായണ പാരായണവും, നവരാത്രി പൂജകൾ, മണ്ഡലപൂജ, തുടർന്ന് വൃശ്ചിക മാസത്തിൽ ശാസ്താംപാട്ട് എന്നിവയും നടന്നു വരുന്നു. ഉത്സവകാലത്ത് അപൂർവമായ പൂജകളും ആചാരങ്ങളും കൊണ്ട് പ്രസിദ്ധമായ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം ദീപാലങ്കാരങ്ങളാലും വിളക്കുകളാലും അശ്രിതർക്ക് വെടിപ്പിച്ച്‌ അലങ്കരിക്കുന്നു. എഴുന്നെള്ളിപ്പ്, ക്ഷേത്ര കലാരൂപങ്ങൾ, ഘോഷയാത്ര എന്നിവയും ഉത്സവത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായിരിക്കും. തൃക്കാർത്തികയും നവരാത്രിയും ഇവിടുത്തെ മറ്റ് പ്രധാന വിശേഷ ദിനങ്ങളാണ്.
