Chendamangalam, located about 5 km north of the Bank Junction in North Paravur, Ernakulam district, is home to the Paliam Devi Temple, a sacred place of worship.
The temple walls are adorned with intricately designed stone lanterns, enhancing the serene ambiance of the lush green surroundings. A large temple pond situated behind the temple and a majestic banyan tree at the entrance add to its spiritual charm.
Uniquely, the temple conducts worship only once a day, making darshan available exclusively in the morning. The most significant festival celebrated here is Navratri, during which devotees from across the village gather to seek the blessings of the Goddess.
Over the nine days of Navratri, the temple comes alive with special poojas and vibrant artistic performances, creating a deeply spiritual and festive atmosphere.
ചേന്ദമംഗലം ദേവീ ക്ഷേത്രം
എറണാകുളം ജില്ലയിലെ വടക്കൻ പറവൂരിലെ ബാങ്ക് കവലയിൽ നിന്ന് ഏകദേശം അഞ്ചു കിലോമീറ്റർ വടക്കോട്ട് സഞ്ചരിച്ചാൽ ചേന്ദമംഗലത്തെത്താം, അവിടെയാണ് പാലിയം ദേവീ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. ചേന്ദമംഗലത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലൊന്നായ ഈ ദേവീക്ഷേത്രം പഞ്ചായത്ത് ഓഫീസിന് സമീപത്തായി സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു.
ഗ്രാമത്തിന്റെ ഹൃദയഭാഗത്ത് കിഴക്കോട്ട് ദർശനമായാണ് ക്ഷേത്രം നിലനിൽക്കുന്നത്. കൊടുങ്ങല്ലുർക്കും ഗോതുരുത്തിലേക്കും പോകുന്ന പാത ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് മുൻവശത്തുകൂടി കടന്നുപോകുന്നു, റോഡിനോട് ചേർന്ന് പടിഞ്ഞാറ് വശത്തായാണ് ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. പഴയകാലത്തെ കൽവിളക്കുകൾ ചുറ്റമ്പലത്തിന് പ്രത്യേക ശോഭേകിക്കുന്നു. സാമാന്യം അതിവിശാലമായ ക്ഷേത്രമതിൽക്കകത്ത് പച്ചപ്പാർന്ന അന്തരീക്ഷവും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് പിന്നിലായി വലിയൊരു കുളം കൂടി നിലനിൽക്കുന്നു.
പ്രവേശന കവാടത്തിൽ വലിയൊരു അരയാൽമരവുമുണ്ട്, ഇത് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൻറെ ദൈവികത ഉയർത്തിപ്പിടിക്കുന്നു.
ചേന്ദമംഗലം ദേവീ ക്ഷേത്രം ഒരു നേരം മാത്രം പൂജ ചെയ്യുന്ന അപൂർവ്വ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ്, അതിനാൽ ദർശനം ലഭിക്കുന്നത് രാവിലെ മാത്രമാണ്. പ്രധാന വിശേഷദിവസം നവരാത്രിയാണിത്, ഈ ഒമ്പത് ദിവസങ്ങളിലും വിശേഷാൽ പൂജകളും വിവിധ കലാപരിപാടികളും അതിഗംഭീരമായി നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. ഈ ദിനങ്ങളിൽ നാടിന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് ഭക്തജനങ്ങൾ ധാരാളമായി ക്ഷേത്രദർശനത്തിനായി എത്തുന്നു.
