Chendankulangara Sree Krishna Swamy Temple, over 1000 years old, is located in Elamakkara village, Edappally, in Ernakulam District and is administered by a private trust.
The main deity is Lord Krishna, with Lord Sastha and Goddess Bhagavathy also worshipped here. A large temple pond, covering approximately 80 cents of land, lies in front of the temple, adding to its serene ambiance.
Originally under the administration of 'Edappally Palace (Swaroopam),' the temple is now managed by the 'Kerala Kshetra Samrakshana Samithi' through a dedicated local committee overseeing its daily operations. The temple showcases the traditional architectural style of ancient Kerala, reflecting the region's rich heritage.
ചേന്ദൻകുളങ്ങര ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം
ഇടപ്പള്ളി ചങ്ങമ്പുഴ പാർക്കിൽ നിന്ന് ഏകദേശം ഒന്നര കിലോമീറ്റർ ദൂരത്തിൽ പോണേക്കര മണിമല റോഡിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന അതിപുരാതനമായ ഒരു ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് ചേന്ദൻകുളങ്ങര ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം. പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണനാണ്, ഉപദേവതകളായി ശാസ്താവിനെയും ഭഗവതിയെയും ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ആരാധിക്കുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനു മുന്നിൽ ഏകദേശം 80 സെൻറ് വിസ്തൃതിയുള്ള ഒരു വലിയ കുളം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു.
ആദ്യകാലത്ത് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം ഇടപ്പള്ളി പാലസ് (സ്വരൂപം) എന്ന കൊച്ചിരാജവംശത്തിൻറെ കീഴിലായിരുന്നു. ഇപ്പോൾ ക്ഷേത്രഭരണകാര്യങ്ങൾ 'കേരള ക്ഷേത്ര സംരക്ഷണ സമിതി' പ്രത്യേക സമിതിയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണസ്വാമിയുടെ മനോഹരവും വിശിഷ്ടവുമായ ഒരു വിഗ്രഹം പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. കേരളീയ വാസ്തുവിദ്യയുടെ അതിപുരാതന ശൈലി പിന്തുടർന്നാണ് ക്ഷേത്രം നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.
