Edappally Ganapathy Temple is a revered temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. This temple holds great significance and is considered a must-visit at least once a year to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha.
Also known as Vaka Ganapathy Temple, it serves as the family temple of the Edappally royal family. The temple is located within the palace premises, facing west, and the presiding deity is regarded as the patron deity of the Edappally Royal Family.
Constructed at the center of the forecourts of Edappally Swaroopam, the temple faces east and is situated near the Edappally High School Bus Stop.
The temple is open to devotees in the morning between 5:00 AM and 7:30 AM. After these hours, members of the Edappally royal family conduct their private worship, as it is their family temple. The temple also remains open in the evening for devotees.
According to legend, Lord Ganesha himself once appeared before the Edappally Swaroopam during a Ganapathy Homam and accepted the offerings. Devotees visit the temple to seek the fulfillment of their wishes and prayers, believing that Lord Ganesha helps remove obstacles and difficulties from their lives.
ഇടപ്പള്ളി മഹാഗണപതി ക്ഷേത്രം
എറണാകുളം ജില്ലയിലെ ഇടപ്പള്ളി ജംഗ്ഷനിലെ മേൽപ്പാലത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഏകദേശം ഒരു കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെ, ഇടപ്പള്ളി ഹൈസ്കൂൾ ബസ് സ്റ്റോപ്പിന് സമീപമാണ് മഹാഗണപതി ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഇടപ്പള്ളി സ്വരൂപത്തിന്റെ മധ്യഭാഗത്ത് കിഴക്ക് അഭിമുഖമായി ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം നിർമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ഗണപതി ഭഗവാന്റെ മഹത്തായ ചൈതന്യം നിറഞ്ഞതുമായ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണ് ഇടപ്പള്ളി ഗണപതി ക്ഷേത്രം.
ഗണേശപ്രീതിക്കായി വർഷത്തിൽ ഒരിക്കലെങ്കിലും ദർശനം നടത്തേണ്ട ക്ഷേത്രമാണിത്. ഇടപ്പള്ളി രാജകുടുംബത്തിന്റെ കുടുംബക്ഷേത്രമായതിനാൽ ഇത് കൊട്ടാരം വക ഗണപതി ക്ഷേത്രം എന്നുപോലും അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു.
കൊട്ടാരത്തിനുള്ളിൽ, പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ട് ദർശനമായാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഇടപ്പള്ളി ഗണപതിയുടെ പ്രധാന വഴിപാട് 'കൂട്ടപ്പം' ആണ്.പത്നീസമേതനും ദശഹസ്തനുമായ മഹാഗണപതി ഭാവത്തിലാണ് ഇവിടെ ഗണപതി പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.
ഒരു വിഗ്രഹപ്രതിഷ്ഠയില്ലാത്ത ക്ഷേത്രമാണിത്, എന്നതിനാൽ പ്രത്യേക ഉത്സവങ്ങളോ ആഘോഷങ്ങളോ ഇവിടെ നടത്താറില്ല. നിത്യേന പഞ്ചലോഹ വിഗ്രഹത്തിൽ മൂന്നു നേരം പൂജകൾ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. വിനായകചതുർഥി ദിവസത്തിൽ പ്രത്യേക പൂജകളും വഴിപാടുകളും നടന്നു വരുന്നു.
ഭക്തർ അഭീഷ്ടസിദ്ധിക്കും, തടസ്സങ്ങളും കഷ്ടതകളും നീങ്ങി അനുയോജ്യമായ ജോലി ലഭിക്കുന്നതിനുമായി ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ണിയപ്പ നിവേദ്യം വഴിപാടായി സമർപ്പിക്കുന്നു. നെയ്പ്പായസം മറ്റൊരു പ്രധാന വഴിപാടാണ്. കറുകമാല, നെയ്‌വിളക്ക്, നാളികേരമുടയ്ക്കൽ എന്നീ ഗണേശപ്രീതികരമായ വഴിപാടുകളും ഇവിടെ ഭക്തർ ആചരിച്ചു വരുന്നു.
