Kadungalloor Sree Narasimha Swami Temple, located near Aluva in Ernakulam district, is one of Kerala’s prominent Narasimha temples.
The temple is easily accessible from Paravur Junction and is situated just 3 km from Aluva. The presiding deity, Lord Narasimha, is worshipped in his fierce form, slaying Hiranyakashipu. Lord Vishnu and Parthasarathy are also worshipped here. The temple features a unique circular sanctum, with the deity facing east.
Notably, there are no sub-deities within the temple’s Mathilkettu (inner courtyard), making its structure distinct. Devotees believe that sincere prayers at this temple can cure ailments and relieve afflictions. Chanting the Dhanvantari mantra is thought to bring healing, while reciting the Narasimha mantra is believed to remove hardships. It is also said that participating in the worship of the “Valiyavilakku” (grand lamp) during the temple festival and offering prayers at the Sthambham (sacred pillar) can help fulfill even the most difficult desires. The temple’s annual festival begins on the eve of Vishu in April and lasts for seven days, drawing devotees from far and wide.
കടുങ്ങല്ലൂർ ശ്രീ നരസിംഹസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം
എറണാകുളം ജില്ലയിലെ ആലുവയ്ക്ക് സമീപം കടുങ്ങല്ലൂർ ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു പ്രശസ്ത ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് കടുങ്ങല്ലൂർ നരസിംഹ സ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം. പറവൂർ കവല വഴി എളുപ്പത്തിൽ എത്തിച്ചേരാവുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം ആലുവയിൽ നിന്ന് മൂന്നുകിലോമീറ്റർ മാത്രം ദൂരത്തിലാണ്.
ഭീകര ഭാവത്തിൽ ഹിരണ്യകശിപുവിനെ നിഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന നരസിംഹൻ ആണ് ഇവിടത്തെ മുഖ്യ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ. മഹാവിഷ്ണുവിനും പാർത്ഥസാരഥിക്കും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ പ്രാധാന്യമുണ്ട്.
വൃത്താകൃതിയിലുള്ള ശ്രീകോവിലിൽ കിഴക്കോട്ടാണ് ഭഗവാൻ ദർശനം നൽകുന്നത്. ഇതിന്റെ നിർമ്മാണ ശൈലി ഏറെ പ്രാധാന്യമർഹിക്കുന്നതാണ്. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ മതിൽക്കെട്ടിനുള്ളിൽ ഉപദേവതകളുടെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ ഇല്ലാത്തത് അതിൻറെ സവിശേഷതയാണ്. മതിലിനു പുറത്തു മഹാവിഷ്ണുവിനും പാർത്ഥസാരഥിക്കും പ്രതിഷ്ഠകളുണ്ട്. വിശ്വാസമനുസരിച്ച്, ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചാൽ സകല രോഗങ്ങളും ദുരിതങ്ങളും ശമിക്കുമെന്നാണ് ഭക്തരുടെ വിശ്വാസം.
ധന്വന്തരി മന്ത്രം ഉപയോഗിച്ച് പൂജനിർവഹിച്ചാൽ എല്ലാ രോഗങ്ങളും മാറുമെന്ന് കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു. അതുപോലെ, നരസിംഹ മന്ത്രം ജപിച്ച് പൂജ ചെയ്താൽ സകല ദുരിതങ്ങളും നീങ്ങുമെന്നു വിശ്വസിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ഉത്സവ ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ വലിയ വിളക്കിന്റെ ദീപാരാധനയിൽ പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചാൽ, ആഗ്രഹിച്ചതെല്ലാം സാധ്യമാകുമെന്നുമുണ്ട്.മേടമാസത്തിലെ വിഷുവിന് തലേദിവസത്തിൽ ആരംഭിച്ച് ഏഴുദിവസം നീണ്ടു നിൽക്കുന്ന ഉത്സവമാണ് ഇവിടെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ടത്. അന്നേദിവസങ്ങളിൽ ഭക്തജനങ്ങൾ അകമഴിഞ്ഞ് ദർശനത്തിനെത്തുകയും നരസിംഹ സ്വാമിയുടെ അനുഗ്രഹം തേടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
