Mammalassery Sreerama Swami Temple, an ancient temple with centuries of history, is located in Mammalassery, Ramamangalam Panchayat, between Piravom and Ramamangalam in Ernakulam district.
Lord Rama is enshrined here in the Chaturbhuja (four-armed) form of Lord Vishnu, holding a conch (Shankha), discus (Chakra), mace (Gada), and lotus (Padma), with an east-facing idol. Lord Hanuman, the devoted servant of Lord Rama, is positioned towards the northern side of the temple.
Inside the Nalambalam, in the eastern Kanni Moola (sacred corner), Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha, and Lord Ayyappa reside in a single Sreekovil (sanctum). Outside the temple, in the northern section, Goddess Bhadrakali is enshrined facing north, while slightly to the east, Goddess Durga faces west. Additionally, there is a Sarpa Kavu (sacred serpent grove) in the Kanni Moola. The temple is managed by the Travancore Devaswom Board, and daily rituals include three poojas conducted under the guidance of the Thantri from the Manayathattu Mana.
Situated along the banks of the Muvattupuzha River, the temple stands as a testament to the rich heritage of ancient Kerala temple architecture, showcasing remarkable craftsmanship and vastu shilpa traditions that have withstood the test of time. The ancient Sreerama Swami Temple is located on the banks of the Muvattupuzha River, about four kilometers south of Ramamangalam. The temple opens at 4:00 AM.
Devotees have the opportunity to offer ‘Ambu’ (arrows) and ‘Villu’ (bow) to Lord Sreerama, as well as perform significant offerings such as Paal Payasam (sweet milk pudding) and Meenootu (fish feeding ritual). Additionally, Hanuman Swami, the devoted servant of Lord Rama, can be offered a ‘Gada’ (mace). The temple also provides Annadanam (free meals) to all devotees.

എറണാകുളം ജില്ലയിൽ പിറവക്കും രാമമംഗലത്തിനും മദ്ധ്യേ, രാമമംഗലം പഞ്ചായത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന മാമ്മലശ്ശേരി ശ്രീരാമസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകൾ പഴക്കമുള്ള ഒരു മഹാക്ഷേത്രമാണ്. കിഴക്കോട്ട് ദർശനമായി ശ്രീരാമൻ ഇവിടെ കുടികൊള്ളുന്നത് ചതുർബാഹുവും ശംഖചക്രഗദാപദ്മധാരിയുമായ വിഷ്ണുമൂർത്തിയുടെ രൂപത്തിലാണ്. ശ്രീരാമദാസനായ ഹനുമാൻ വടക്കുഭാഗത്ത് ഓവുതാങ്ങിയായി പ്രതിഷ്ഠിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. നാലമ്പലത്തിനകത്ത് കന്നിമൂലയിൽ, കിഴക്കോട്ട് ദർശനമായി ശിവൻ, ഗണപതി, അയ്യപ്പൻ എന്നിവർ ഒറ്റ ശ്രീകോവിലിൽ വാഴുന്നു.
നടയ്ക്കു പുറത്തുള്ള വടക്കുഭാഗത്ത് വടക്കോട്ട് ദർശനമായി ഭദ്രകാളിയും, അല്പം കിഴക്കുമാറി പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ട് ദർശനമായി ദുർഗ്ഗയും പ്രതിഷ്ഠയുള്ളത് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ പ്രത്യേകതകളിലൊന്നാണ്. കൂടാതെ കന്നിമൂലയിൽ സർപ്പക്കാവും നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു. തിരുവിതാംകൂർ ദേവസ്വം ബോർഡിനു കീഴിലുള്ള ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം, കേരളത്തിലെ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട ശ്രീരാമക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ്. വലിപ്പംകൊണ്ടും ആചാരനിഷ്ഠകൊണ്ടും ചൈതന്യത്തോടും കൂടി ഈ ദേവാലയം ഭക്തർക്ക് പ്രത്യേകമായ ആകർഷണമാണു. രാമായണത്തിലെ പ്രസിദ്ധമായ സംഭവങ്ങളിലൊന്നായ മരീച വധവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട ഐതിഹ്യങ്ങൾ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് ഉള്ളതായാണ് വിശ്വാസം.
മാനായി വന്ന് സീതയെ മോഹിപ്പിച്ച മരീചന് ഒടുവിൽ രാമബാണമേൽക്കുന്നു. മാൻ ചത്തുമലച്ചുവീണ സ്ഥലം പിന്നീട് "മാമ്മലശ്ശേരി" എന്ന പേരിൽ അറിയപ്പെടുകയും, ആ മാനിന്റെ മേൽഭാഗം വീണ സ്ഥലം "മേമുറി" എന്നും കീഴ്ഭാഗം വീണത് "കീഴ്മുറി" എന്നും അറിയപ്പെടുന്നുവെന്ന ഐതിഹ്യമുണ്ട്. രാമമംഗലത്തുനിന്ന് നാലുകിലോമീറ്റർ തെക്കായി, മൂവാറ്റുപുഴയാറിന്റെ തീരത്ത് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം പുലർച്ചെ നാലുമണിക്ക് നട തുറക്കുന്നു.
ശ്രീരാമസ്വാമിക്ക് അമ്പും വില്ലും സമർപ്പിക്കാനും പാൽപ്പായസം, മീനൂട്ട് തുടങ്ങിയ പ്രധാന വഴിപാടുകൾ നടത്താനും ഹനുമാൻസ്വാമിക്ക് ‘ഗദ’ സമർപ്പിക്കാനും ഭക്തർക്ക് അവസരമുണ്ട്. കൂടാതെ, എല്ലാ ഭക്തർക്കും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ അന്നദാനം നൽകപ്പെടുന്നു.
