Maradu Kottaram Sree Bhagavathy Temple is one of the most renowned temples in Ernakulam district, Kerala.
It holds great religious and cultural significance, attracting numerous devotees throughout the year.
One of the most important festivals of Maradu Desam is the annual Thalapoli Festival, held at the temple during the months of February and March. Popularly known as the Maradu Fireworks Festival, it is one of the grandest fireworks festivals in Kerala.
The celebrations are organized by two committees, North Cheruvaram and South Cheruvaram, representing the two sections of the temple’s devotees. Each group conducts its own set of rituals, festivities, and separate fireworks displays. The festival is famous for its spectacular pyrotechnics, and people from across the region gather to witness the breathtaking display of sound and light, making it a truly majestic celebration.
മരട് കൊട്ടാരം ശ്രീ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം
എറണാകുളം ജില്ലയിലെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രശസ്തമായ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണ് മരട് കൊട്ടാരം ശ്രീ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം അതിന്റെ മഹോത്സവങ്ങൾക്കും ആചാരാനുഷ്ഠാനങ്ങൾക്കും പേരുകേട്ടതാണ്.
മരട് ദേശത്തിൻറെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട ആഘോഷങ്ങളിലൊന്നായ താലപ്പൊലി മഹോത്സവം എല്ലാ വർഷവും ഫെബ്രുവരി-മാർച്ച് മാസങ്ങളിൽ ഭക്തിസാന്ദ്രമായ അന്തരീക്ഷത്തിൽ നടത്തി വരുന്നു.
മരട് വെടിക്കെട്ട് ഉത്സവം എന്ന പേരിൽ അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഈ ഉത്സവം കേരളത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും ഗംഭീരമായ വെടിക്കെട്ടുകളിലൊന്നായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ ഇരുവശത്തുമുള്ള ജനവിഭാഗങ്ങൾ വടക്കേ ചേറുവാരം തെക്കേ ചേറുവാരം എന്നിങ്ങനെ രണ്ടു കമ്മറ്റികളായി വിഭജിച്ച് ഉത്സവാഘോഷങ്ങൾ സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
ഓരോ വിഭാഗവും പ്രത്യേകമായി ഉത്സവ ചടങ്ങുകളും ഭംഗിയേറിയ വെടിക്കെട്ടും ഒരുക്കുന്നു. ശബ്ദഗാംഭീര്യത്തിലും കരിമരുന്നുപ്രയോഗത്തിലും പ്രശസ്തമായ ഈ വെടിക്കെട്ട് കാണാൻ ദൂരദേശങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ഭക്തജനങ്ങളും വിനോദസഞ്ചാരികളും ഉത്സവദിനങ്ങളിൽ ഇവിടെ എത്തിച്ചേരുന്നു.
