Sree Jagannatha Swamy Temple, located in Mattancherry, Ernakulam, is a revered Hindu temple dedicated to Sree Janardhana Swamy, who is worshipped in his pure form as Bhagavan Vishnu.
The main deity, Sree Janardhana Swamy, is enshrined along with Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Bhoodevi in the sanctum sanctorum. A unique aspect of this temple is the presence of Lord Shiva, worshipped in the form of Mahabaleswar (Salagrama of Shiva), within the same garbhagriha. This makes it one of the rare temples where both Mahavishnu and Mahadeva are worshipped together, with rituals and poojas performed in unison.
The temple follows the "Panchayatana Sampradaya," conducting special Salagrama poojas. Additionally, deities such as Lakshmi Aditya and Lord Ganesha (Vigneswara) are also worshipped in the temple.
Sreemadh Janardhana Devasom encompasses several other temple complexes around Amaravathy, including Althara Bhagavathy Devasthan, Sree Hanuman Devasthan, Brahma Devasthan (Moola Asthana), Sree Mahabaleswar Devasthan, and Navagraha Devasthan, further enriching the spiritual significance of the temple.

കൊച്ചി മട്ടാഞ്ചേരിയിൽ നിന്ന് 2.1 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെ അമരാവതിയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന അതിപുരാതനവും വിശിഷ്ടവുമായ ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് ശ്രീമദ് ജനാർദ്ദന ദേവസ്ഥാനം. ശ്രീ ജനാർദ്ദന സ്വാമിയുടെ കേരളത്തിലെ അപൂർവ്വ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണ് ഇത്.
പതിനാറാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിൽ ഗോവയിൽ പോർച്ചുഗീസ്, ഡച്ച് അധിനിവേശത്തിന്റെ ഭീഷണി കാരണം ഗോവയിൽ നിന്നു കൊച്ചിയിലേക്ക് കുടിയേറിയ വൈശ്യ വാണിയൻ സമൂഹം നിർമ്മിച്ച ക്ഷേത്രമാണിത്.
ക്ഷേത്ര നിർമ്മാണം പതിനാറാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിൻറെ ആദ്യ പാദത്തിലാണ് നടന്നത്. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠയായ ശ്രീ ജനാർദ്ദന സ്വാമിയെ ലക്ഷ്മിദേവിയുടെയും ഭൂദേവിയുടെയും സാനിധ്യത്തിൽ ഭഗവാൻ മഹാവിഷ്ണുവിന്റെ തനതായ രൂപത്തിൽ ആരാധിക്കുന്നു. അതേ ഗർഭഗൃഹത്തിൽ തന്നെ, ശിവനെ മഹാബലേശ്വർ എന്ന സാളഗ്രാമ രൂപത്തിലും പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചു ആരാധിക്കുന്നതുമാണ്.
ശിവനും മഹാവിഷ്ണുവും ഒരേ ഗർഭഗൃഹത്തിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന അപൂർവ്വ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണിത്. “പഞ്ചായതന സമ്പ്രദായ” പ്രകാരം സാളഗ്രാമ പൂജകളും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നിത്യവും നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. കൂടാതെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ലക്ഷ്മി ആദിത്യയും വിഘ്നേശ്വരനും ഉപദേവതകളായി ആരാധിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
