Pallathamkulangara Bhagavathi Temple is one of the ancient temples in Kerala, located in Kuzhuppilly Village, Vypin Island, just 16 km from Vypin in Ernakulam district.
The presiding deity is Goddess Parasakthi in the form of Durga Bhagavathi, radiating her divine grandeur.
Approximately 750 years ago, the site where the temple now stands was part of the sea. Fishermen discovered a magnificent Devi idol from the waters and handed it over to the local governing authorities (Desa Pramani).
Over time, the sea receded, revealing the land, and a temple was built at the site, initially named "Pallath Temple." This name eventually evolved into "Pallathamkulangara." A unique feature of the temple is its "Eka Vigraha Prathishta," where only a single deity is worshipped.
Pallathamkulangara Bhagavathi Temple is also believed to be blessed by the presence of Budhan (Mercury), the deity of wisdom and education.

Pallathamkulangara Bhagavathi Temple's annual festival, held in the Malayalam month of Kumbham (February–March), is celebrated with great enthusiasm. Major events include the grand "Thalappoli," "Vela," "Padayani," and the traditional ritual of "Thookkam," observed from Thiruvonam to Bharani star days.
പള്ളത്താംകുളങ്ങര ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം കുഴിപ്പള്ളി
എറണാകുളം ജില്ലയിലെ കൊച്ചിൻ താലൂക്കിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന പ്രധാന ദ്വീപുകളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് വൈപ്പിൻ. വൈപ്പിനിൽ നിന്ന് 16 കിലോമീറ്റർ വടക്കോട്ടുള്ള കുഴുപ്പിള്ളി പഞ്ചായത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഭക്തജനങ്ങളുടെ ആശ്രയകേന്ദ്രമാണ് പള്ളത്താംകുളങ്ങര ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം. ദുർഗ്ഗഭാവത്തിൽ പരാശക്തി ചൈതന്യമായ ഭഗവതിയാണ് ഇവിടുത്തെ പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠ.
ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൻറെ പ്രത്യേകത ഏക വിഗ്രഹപ്രതിഷ്ഠയാണെന്ന് വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കാം. ഏകദേശം അഞ്ച് ഏക്കറോളം വരുന്ന വിശാലമായ മൈതാനത്തിൻറെ മദ്ധ്യത്തിലാണ് ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. അനുമാനിച്ച് 750 വർഷങ്ങൾക്ക് മുമ്പ്, മത്സ്യബന്ധനത്തിനായി സമുദ്രത്തിലേക്ക് പോയ തൊഴിലാളികൾക്കാണ് ഈ ഭഗവതി വിഗ്രഹം ലഭിച്ചത്.
ഈ ദിവ്യ പ്രത്യക്ഷതയുടെ അനുഗ്രഹം സാക്ഷാത്കരിച്ച ഭക്തജനങ്ങൾ, ബ്രാഹ്മണ കാർമ്മികത്വത്തിൽ ക്ഷേത്രം പണിച്ച്, ഭഗവതിയുടെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ നിർവഹിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. പള്ളത്താംകുളങ്ങര ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ കുംഭമാസ താലപ്പൊലി മഹോത്സവം അത്യന്തം സവിശേഷതയുള്ളതാണ്. 750 വർഷത്തിലേറെ പഴക്കം കണക്കാക്കുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ താലപ്പൊലി മഹോത്സവത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് ചൂട്ടുപടയണി, വേല, ആൾതൂക്കം തുടങ്ങിയ അപൂർവ്വ ആചാരാനുഷ്ഠാനങ്ങൾ നടപ്പിലാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
വെപ്പിൻ-മുനമ്പം റോഡിൻറെ കിഴക്കുവശത്തായി വിശാലവും മനോഹരവുമായ വെള്ളമണൽ നിറഞ്ഞ ക്ഷേത്രമൈതാനത്തിലാണ് ഈ ഉത്സവങ്ങൾ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നത്.
ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ താലപ്പൊലി ദൃശ്യങ്ങൾ തൃശ്ശൂർ പൂരം അനുസ്മരിപ്പിക്കുന്ന രീതിയിലാണെന്നും, കുഴുപ്പിള്ളി പഞ്ചായത്തിൻറെ പൊതുഉത്സവമായി തന്നെ ഈ താലപ്പൊലി ആഘോഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതായും കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു. അയ്യമ്പിള്ളി ശിവക്ഷേത്രവും അതിൻറെ കീഴിലുള്ള കുഴുപ്പിള്ളി ശിവക്ഷേത്രവും കൊച്ചി ദേവസ്വം ബോർഡിൻറെ കീഴിലുള്ള ആരാധനാലയങ്ങളാണ്.
