Puthukkalavattom Mahadeva Temple, located along the Puthukkalavattom-Elamakkara road, is approximately 5 kilometers from Ernakulam in Kochi, Kerala.
Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this sacred temple is known for its spiritual ambiance, drawing devotees who seek blessings and inner peace. Alongside Lord Shiva, the temple also enshrines Shakti Swaroopini Bhagawathi and Lord Sree Ganesha, with Nagadevathas and Navagrahas as sub-deities, bestowing their divine grace.
Historically, the temple was under the administration of Edappally Swaroopam before being taken over by the NSS Karayogam. The grand annual Thiruvathira Mahotsavam is celebrated from the Aswathi star day to the Thiruvathira star day in the Malayalam month of Dhanu. This festival holds special significance, as many devotees visit the temple during this time to seek Lord Shiva’s blessings for a suitable life partner and a blissful married life.
പുതുക്കലവട്ടം മഹാദേവ ക്ഷേത്രം
എറണാകുളം നഗരത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഏകദേശം 5 കിലോമീറ്റർ ദൂരത്തായി പുതുക്കലവട്ടം-എളമക്കര റോഡിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രശസ്തമായ ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് പുതുക്കലവട്ടം മഹാദേവക്ഷേത്രം. നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകളുടെ പാരമ്പര്യമുള്ള ഈ മഹാക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ, മംഗളസ്വരൂപനായ ഭഗവാൻ മഹാദേവൻ സ്വയംഭൂ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയായി കിഴക്കോട്ട് ദർശനം നല്കിക്കൊണ്ട് പ്രതിഷ്ഠിതനാകുന്നു. കലൂർ, ഇടപ്പള്ളി എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലേക്ക് സുഗമമായി എത്തിച്ചേരാൻ സൗകര്യമുണ്ട്.
ശക്തിസ്വരൂപിണിയായ ഭഗവതി, വിഘ്നവിഘാതകനായ ഗണപതി, നാഗദേവതകൾ, നവഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ മഹാദേവനോടൊപ്പം ഉപദേവതകളായി വിശ്വാസികൾക്ക് അനുഗ്രഹം ചൊരിയുന്നു. പുലിയന്നൂർ ഇല്ലക്കാർ തന്ത്രിസ്ഥാനം വഹിക്കുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ നടത്തിപ്പ് ആദ്യം ഇടപ്പള്ളി സ്വരൂപത്തിനു കീഴിലായിരുന്നുവെങ്കിലും പിന്നീട് എൻ.എസ്.എസ് ഏറ്റെടുക്കുകയായിരുന്നു
ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന മഹോത്സവമായ തിരുവാതിര മഹോത്സവം ധനുമാസത്തിലെ അശ്വതി നാളിൽ ആരംഭിച്ച് തിരുവാതിര നാളിൽ ആറാട്ടോടുകൂടി സമാപിക്കുന്നു. ഉത്തമഭർതൃലബ്ധിക്കും, നീണ്ടമംഗല്യത്തിനുമായി ഭക്തജനങ്ങൾ ക്ഷിപ്രപ്രസാദിയായ പുതുക്കലവട്ടത്തപ്പൻറെ അനുഗ്രഹം തേടിയെത്തുന്നു. ഇതിന് പുറമെ മഹാശിവരാത്രി, നവരാത്രി, കന്നിമാസത്തിലെ ആയില്യപൂജ, വൃശ്ചികത്തിലെ മണ്ഡലവിളക്ക്, മേടമാസത്തിലെ ധ്വജപ്രതിഷ്ഠാദിനം, നവഗ്രഹപ്രതിഷ്ഠാദിനം എന്നിവയും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന വിശേഷദിനങ്ങളായി ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു.
