Thottuva Dhanwanthari Temple is a revered Hindu temple located in Thottuva, Kerala, India. It is situated on the Perumbavoor-Kodanad route, about one kilometer from Thottuva junction in Koovapady panchayat, Ernakulam district.
The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Dhanwanthari, the divine physician, enshrined in a majestic six-foot-tall idol facing east. In his right hand, he holds Amrith (nectar), while his left hand carries Atta, Shankha (conch), and Chakra (discus). The temple also houses sub-deities, including Lord Ayyappan, Lord Ganapathy, Goddess Bhadrakali, and Rakshasas.
Fresh unboiled milk is a significant offering here, and butter is the most important offering made to the deity.
The temple celebrates major festivals on Ekadashi in the Malayalam month of Vrischikam and on the Pooyam star day in Medam, which marks the temple’s consecration. The temple belongs to the Koramboor Mana family and is managed by the Sree Dhanwanthari Moorthi Seva Trust.
A small stream flows eastward on the temple's southern side, where devotees traditionally bathe before entering for darshan. It is believed that staying and meditating in the temple premises helps alleviate ailments caused by Vatha, Pitha, and Kafa (the three doshas in Ayurveda). Many Ayurvedic practitioners visit the temple for Bhajana (prayers and meditation). Krishna Tulasi is considered especially dear to Lord Dhanwanthari.
A unique ritual observed at the temple is the "Dasavatara Chartal," where the deity is adorned in ten different forms from Dhanu 1st to 11th.
This tradition began when a member of the Koramboor Mana family, longing for a child, prayed to Lord Dhanwanthari, vowing to offer ten different forms of decoration if blessed with a child. Within a year, his wish was fulfilled, and since then, this practice has continued, with many devotees performing the offering in hopes of progeny.

എറണാകുളം ജില്ലയിലെ കൂവപ്പടി പഞ്ചായത്തിലെ തോട്ടുവ ജംഗ്ഷനിൽ നിന്ന് ഒരു കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെ പെരുമ്പാവൂർ-കോടനാട് റൂട്ടിലായാണ് തോട്ടുവ ധന്വന്തരി ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. തോട്ടുവ ജംഗ്ഷൻ ബോട്ട് ജെട്ടിയിൽ നിന്ന് കാലടി-മലയാറ്റൂർ വഴിയുള്ള പാതയിലൂടെയും ഭക്തർക്ക് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ എത്തിച്ചേരാം. കിഴക്കോട്ടു ദർശനമായ ആറടി ഉയരമുള്ള വിഗ്രഹമാണ് പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠയായ ധന്വന്തരി.
ഭഗവാൻ വലത് കൈയിൽ അമൃതവും ഇടതുകൈയിൽ ശംഖ്, ചക്രം എന്നിവയും പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ഉപദേവതകളായി അയ്യപ്പൻ, ഗണപതി, ഭദ്രകാളി, രക്ഷസുകൾ എന്നിവ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ പ്രധാന വഴിപാട് തിളപ്പിക്കാത്ത പുതിയ പാൽ സമർപ്പിക്കലും വെണ്ണ നിവേദ്യവുമാണ്. വൃശ്ചിക മാസത്തിലെ ഏകാദശി മഹോത്സവവും, മേടമാസത്തിലെ പൂയം നക്ഷത്രത്തിൽ ആഘോഷിക്കുന്ന പ്രതിഷ്ഠാദിനവും പ്രധാന ഉത്സവങ്ങളാണ്. കൊരമ്പൂർ മന കുടുംബത്തിന്റേതായ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം ശ്രീ ധന്വന്തരി മൂർത്തി സേവാ ട്രസ്റ്റിന്റെ ഭരണത്തിലാണ്.
ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ തെക്ക് ഭാഗത്തുകൂടെ കിഴക്കോട്ട് ഒഴുകുന്ന ഒരു ചെറിയ അരുവി സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. ഈ അരുവിയിൽ കുളിച്ച് ദർശനം നടത്തുന്നതാണ് ആചാരം. വാതം, പിത്തം, കഫം മുതലായ ദോഷങ്ങളെ ശമിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനും ആയുർവേദ ചികിത്സയ്ക്ക് അനുയോജ്യമായ ദൈവാനുഗ്രഹം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നതിനും ഭക്തർ ഇവിടെ ധ്യാനം നടത്തുന്നു. ആയുർവേദ ഡോക്ടർമാരും ഭജനയും പൂജയും നടത്തുവാൻ ഇവിടെ എത്താറുണ്ട്. ധനു മാസം 1 മുതൽ 11 വരെ ഭഗവാനെ ദശാവതാര രൂപങ്ങളിൽ അലങ്കരിക്കുന്നതും ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രത്യേകതയാണ്.
ഇതിന്റെ പിന്നിൽ ഒരു ഐതിഹ്യമുണ്ട്—കൊറമ്പൂർ മനയിലെ ഒരു നമ്പൂതിരിക്ക് സന്താനപ്രാപ്തിയില്ലാത്തതിനെ തുടർന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം ഭഗവാനെ ദശാവതാരങ്ങളിൽ അലങ്കരിക്കുമെന്ന് പ്രതിജ്ഞ ചെയ്‌തു. പ്രാർത്ഥനക്ക് ഫലമായി ഒരു വർഷത്തിനുള്ളിൽ കുട്ടി ജനിച്ചു. അന്നുമുതൽ ഈ ആചാരം വർഷം തോറും തുടർന്നുവരുന്നു. സന്താനലഭ്യതിക്കായി നിരവധി ഭക്തർ ഈ വഴിപാട് നടത്തുകയും ഭഗവാന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹം തേടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
