Thrikkovil Sree Krishna Temple is situated on Changampuzha Park Road in Devankulangara, Mamangalam, Edappally, Ernakulam, Kerala.
The temple is dedicated to Bhagavan Sri Krishna, who is the main deity, facing west. However, it is believed that the temple was originally a place of worship for Lord Shiva before being dedicated to Sri Krishna.
The temple follows traditional Kerala temple architecture, featuring a circular (vatta) sreekovil, separate shrines for Upa Devatas, a chuttambalam, namaskara mandapam, and a dwajasthambam. The Upa Devatas worshipped here include Lord Ayyappan and Lord Subrahmanian.
The temple celebrates the annual Ashtami Rohini (Sri Krishna Jayanti) with special pujas, rituals, and grand festivities, drawing devotees from various places. Historically, the Edappally Swaroopam joined forces with the Zamorin (Samoothiri) of Kozhikode to fight against the King of Cochin. However, after their defeat, members of the Edappally Swaroopam were barred from entering the Ernakulam Mahadeva Temple. As a result, they constructed a new temple, now known as Thrikkovil Sree Krishna Temple, to continue their worship.
Currently, the temple is maintained by the NSS Karayogam.
തൃക്കോവിൽ ക്ഷേത്രസമുച്ചയം
പാലാരിവട്ടത്ത് നിന്നും ഇടപ്പള്ളി ചങ്ങമ്പുഴ പാർക്കിന് സമീപം ദേവൻകുളങ്ങരയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകൾ പഴക്കമുള്ള പ്രസിദ്ധമായ ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് തൃക്കോവിൽ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണ ക്ഷേത്രം. ശിവനും വിഷ്ണുവും ഒരേ വളപ്പിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയായിട്ടുള്ള ഈ ക്ഷേത്ര സമുച്ചയം തൃക്കോവിൽ മഹാദേവ ക്ഷേത്രം എന്ന പേരിലാണ് അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്.
ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ തൃക്കോവിൽ ശ്രീ മഹാദേവൻ സംരക്ഷകനായും സർവ്വ ഐശ്വര്യം നല്കുന്ന മഹാവിഷ്ണുവും, വിഘ്നങ്ങൾ നീക്കുന്ന ഗണപതിയും, ശൗര്യത്തിന്റെയും ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെയും ദേവനായ സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യനും പ്രസിദ്ധമായ പ്രതിഷ്ഠകളായി നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു.
ഇടപ്പള്ളി രാജവംശ ഭരണകാലത്ത്, ഇടപ്പള്ളിയിലും അതിനോട് ചേർന്ന പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും അനേകം ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ പണികഴിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. അവയിൽ ഏറ്റവും പ്രശസ്തമായതും ഭക്തജനങ്ങളെ ആകർഷിക്കുന്നതുമായ ദേവീക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് ദേവൻകുളങ്ങര തൃക്കോവിൽ ക്ഷേത്രം. ചങ്ങമ്പുഴ നഗർ മെട്രോ സ്റ്റേഷനു വളരെ അടുത്തായാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്, ഇത് ഭക്തജനങ്ങൾക്ക് ക്ഷേത്ര ദർശനം കൂടുതൽ സൗകര്യപ്രദമാക്കുന്നു.
