Kanjiramattam Sree Mahadeva Temple is a historic Hindu temple located in the Idukki district, positioned along the banks of the Thodupuzha River in Kanjiramattam Kara, within the Thodupuzha Taluk of Idukki district.
Kanjiramattam Sree Mahadeva Temple is situated approximately one and a half kilometers southeast of the KSRTC bus stand in Thodupuzha. It is regarded as one of the 108 Shiva temples in Kerala, established by the sage Parasurama in honor of Lord Shiva. The deity is represented in a meditative posture beneath a Kalpa Vriksha, accompanied by his consort Parvati.
The architectural design of the temple reflects the traditional style of Kerala. Additionally, the temple houses several sub-deities, including Durga, Amrithakalasa Sastha, Ganapati, Vanadurga, Naga deities, Sri Mookambika Devi, and Rakshass.
കാഞ്ഞിരമറ്റം മഹാദേവ ക്ഷേത്രം
ഇടുക്കി ജില്ലയിലെ തൊടുപുഴയിൽ കാഞ്ഞിരമറ്റത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പുരാതന ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് കാഞ്ഞിരമറ്റം മഹാദേവക്ഷേത്രം. നൂറ്റെട്ട ശിവക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഇടുക്കി ജില്ലയിൽ ഏക ശിവാലയമായ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം, വർഷം മുഴുവനും ഒഴുകുന്ന തൊടുപുഴയാറിന്റെ തീരത്താണ് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്.
ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠയായ പരമശിവൻ പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ദർശനം നൽകുന്നു, ആറിന്റെ കിഴക്കേക്കരയിൽ അദ്ദേഹം നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു. ഗണപതി, അയ്യപ്പൻ, ഭഗവതി, നാഗദൈവങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയെ ഉപദേവതകളായി പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
