Kolani Srikrishna Swamy Temple is a historic site situated in Kolani, within the Thodupuzha Taluk of the Idukki District.
The historic Kolani Srikrishna Swamy Temple is located on the periphery of Thodupuzha town in the Idukki district. This temple dates back to the Dwapara Yuga. During their period of exile, the Panchapandavas arrived in this wooded region, where Bhimasena founded the shrine to honor Lord Krishna. Presently, rituals are conducted in reverence to Lord Krishna, who was consecrated by Bhimasena.
Lord Krishna serves as the principal deity of this temple, which is managed by the Kolani Devaswom Board. During the Dwapara Yuga, the five Pandavas—Yudhishthira, Bhimasena, Arjuna, Nakula, and Sahadeva—along with their wife Draupadi, spent an extended period in the forest, traversing various regions of India in anonymity. Eventually, they arrived at a location where a temple stood, which they found suitable for habitation, and they resided there for several days.
It is well-known that the Pandavas were ardent devotees of Lord Krishna, and Draupadi's devotion to Him is equally renowned. In every place they inhabited, it was their practice to establish an idol of Lord Krishna and conduct puja. Upon reaching this new location, they adhered to this tradition without fail. Bhimasena took the initiative to create a four-armed idol of Lord Vishnu, embodying the essence of Lord Krishna at this site.
Panthiridangazhi Palpayasam serves as the principal offering at the Kolani Srikrishna Swamy Temple, particularly for the fulfillment of wishes. The primary festival celebrated here is Vishu. The temple also houses several sub-deities, including Mahadeva, Ganapati, Rakshas, and Shasta. Additionally, a notable aspect of the temple is the expansive pool located next to it.

ഇടുക്കി ജില്ലയിലെ തൊടുപുഴ താലൂക്കിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പുരാതന ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് കോലാനി ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം. തൊടുപുഴ പട്ടണത്തിൽ നിന്ന് 3.7 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം.
ഇടുക്കി ജില്ലയിലെ തൊടുപുഴ നഗരത്തിൽ പഞ്ചപാണ്ഡവന്മാർ സ്ഥാപിച്ച അഞ്ച് ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട്.
പാണ്ഡവരിൽ ആദ്യനായ യുധിഷ്ഠിരൻ തൊടുപുഴ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ, രണ്ടാമനായ ഭീമസേനൻ കോലാനി ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ, അർജ്ജുനൻ മുട്ടം ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ, നകുലൻ ഇടവെട്ടി ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ, സഹദേവൻ പെരുമ്പിള്ളിച്ചിറ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ നടത്തിയെന്നു പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. കോലാനി ദേവസ്വം ബോർഡിന്റെ നിയന്ത്രണത്തിലാണ്. ഇടുക്കി ജില്ലയിൽ തൊടുപുഴ പട്ടണത്തിന് സമീപം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പുരാതന കോലാനി ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം ദ്വാപരയുഗത്തിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ചുപോകുന്ന ഒരു ചരിത്രപരമായ സ്മാരകമാണ്.
ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണനാണ്. കോലാനി ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ അഭീഷ്ടസിദ്ധിക്കായി നടത്തപ്പെടുന്ന പന്തീരിടങ്ങഴി പാൽപായസമാണ് പ്രധാന വഴിപാട്. വിഷുവിനാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ഉത്സവം. മഹാദേവനെയും, ഗണപതിയേയും, രക്ഷസ്സിനെയും, ശാസ്താവിനേയും ഉപദേവതകളായി പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനടുത്തുള്ള വിശാലമായ ക്ഷേത്രക്കുളം ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ മറ്റൊരു പ്രത്യേകതയാണ്.
