Adiyerimadam Temple, situated in Aralam village about 10 km from Iritty town in Kannur district, is a revered shrine dedicated to Goddess Devi, particularly Uchitta Bhagavathi, believed to be the family deity of the Adiyeri Tanthrik Mutt.
Devotees visit the temple seeking blessings for a happy marital life and to be blessed with children. The temple is managed by the Sree Adiyerimadam Devi Kshethra Samithi. Closely associated with other prominent temples like Mamanikunnu Sree Mahadevi Temple, Mundayamparamba Bhagavathi Temple, and Chettamkunnu Sree Madathil Bhagavathi Temple, Adiyerimadam shares similar rituals and offerings.
Major festivals include Kaliyatta Mahotsavam, Thrikkarthika, and Vijayadasami. The sanctum (Sreekovil) is open on the first day of every Malayalam month, as well as on significant days like Thiruvonam, Mahanavami, Thulam 10, Thrikkarthika (Vrischikam), Dhanu 10, Maha Shivaratri, and Karkkidaka Vavu, all of which include poojas and Annadhanam (community feast). Morning rituals feature Abhishekam, Malarnivedyam, Ganapathihomam, Ushapooja, Uchapooja, followed by Annadhanam, while evenings include Dheeparadhana, Namajapa Pradakshinam, Samooharadhana, and Athazhapooja. Notable offerings include ‘Thottilum Kuttiyum’ for childbirth, ‘Thali Samarppanam’ for marital bliss, and ‘Thulabharam’ for children's well-being.
അടിയേരിമഠം ദേവീ ക്ഷേത്രം
കണ്ണൂർ ജില്ലയിലെ ആറളം ഗ്രാമത്തിലാണ് നാലുകെട്ടുള്ള പ്രശസ്തമായ അടിയേരിമഠം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഇവിടെ പ്രധാന ദേവതയായി ഉച്ചിട്ട ഭഗവതിയെയാണ് ആരാധിക്കുന്നത്. ഈ ഭഗവതിയുടെ ഉത്ഭവസ്ഥാനം അടിയേരിയായതിനാൽ, ഭക്തർ അവളെ “അടിയേരിമഠത്തിലെ ഉച്ചിട്ടയമ്മ” എന്നുവിലിക്കും. ദേവതാസമൂഹം കയറി കുടിയേറിയിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ മഠത്തിൽ ധർമ്മദേവിയായി ദുർഗ്ഗയും, പ്രധാന ഉപാസനമൂർത്തികളായി ഭൈരവാദി പഞ്ചമൂർത്തികളും ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു.
ഭഗവതിയും ഭൈരവനും പ്രധാന ശ്രീകോവിലുകളിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതിനൊപ്പം, രക്തചാമുണ്ഡി, തേവർചാത്തൻ, കരുവാൾഭഗവതി, കുട്ടിച്ചാത്തൻ, ഘണ്ടാകർണ്ണൻ എന്നിവരെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ ശ്രീകോവിലിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. പൊട്ടൻ, കുറത്തി, ഗുളികൻ എന്നിവയ്ക്ക് പുറത്തെ വിവിധ സ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലും, മൂവാളംകുഴി ചാമുണ്ഡിക്ക് പ്രത്യേകം ശ്രീകോവിലിലുമായി ആരാധന നടത്തുന്നു.
അടിയേരിമഠം തെയ്യങ്ങളുടെയും തറവാടുമാണ്.
ഇവിടെ എല്ലാ അഞ്ച് വർഷം കഴിഞ്ഞ് ഒരിക്കൽ ഉച്ചിട്ടഭഗവതി, ഭൈരവൻ, കുട്ടിച്ചാത്തൻ, കരുവാൾഭഗവതി, ഗുളികൻ, രക്തചാമുണ്ഡി, തേവർചാത്തൻ, മൂവാളംകുഴി ചാമുണ്ഡി, ഘണ്ടാകർണ്ണൻ എന്നീ തെയ്യങ്ങൾ കെട്ടിയാടിക്കുന്നു.
പ്രതിവർഷം എല്ലാ മലയാള മാസവും ഒന്നാം തീയതിയിലും, മറ്റ് വിശേഷ ദിവസങ്ങളിലും ത്രികാലപൂജകൾ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.
ഉച്ചക്ക് അന്നദാനവും വഴിപാടായി നൽകപ്പെടുന്നു. മീനം 6 മുതലാണ് പ്രധാന മഹോത്സവത്തിന് തുടക്കമാകുന്നത്.
മംഗല്യസൗഭാഗ്യത്തിനായി സ്വയംവരപൂജ, താലി സമർപ്പണം, സന്താനസൗഭാഗ്യത്തിനായി സന്താനഗോപാലപൂജയും തൊട്ടിലും കുട്ടിയും വെച്ചുള്ള പ്രാർത്ഥനയും, കുട്ടികളുടെ ഐശ്വര്യത്തിനായി തുലാഭാരവും ഈ ദേവീക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന വഴിപാടുകളാണ്.
