Annur Sree Mahavishnu Temple, located in Annur village near Payyanur in Kannur district, is an ancient and sacred Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Narayana (Mahavishnu).
The name "Annur" is believed to be derived from the word "Ann," a reference to Lord Vishnu, the presiding deity of the temple. This revered temple is known as a divine abode where Lord Mahavishnu is believed to respond swiftly to the sincere prayers of his devotees.
Situated just 5 kilometers from Payyanur town, the temple holds a significant place in the oral traditions and ancient folklore of the region.
It is also mentioned in the "Thottam Pattu"—the ritual songs associated with various Theyyam performances of the area. The temple celebrates several major festivals with devotion and grandeur. Among them are the Thiruvona Mahotsavam held in the Malayalam month of Vrischikam, Prathishta Dina Mahotsavam (on Makaram 27), Sri Krishna Jayanthi, Navaratri, Ramayana Masacharanam, Maha Shivaratri, as well as events like Adhyatmika Prabhashanam, Bhagavatha Sapthaham, and Gita Yajnam.
One of the most significant offerings made at the temple is the Payasam Nivedyam prepared in a large cauldron known as Valiya Vattalam. This sacred prasadam is believed to have miraculous healing powers and has brought relief to countless devotees over the years.

മകര മാസം 27-ാം തിയതിയിലാണ് പ്രതിഷ്ഠാദിന മഹോത്സവം. ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണ ജയന്തിയും നവരാത്രി ഉത്സവങ്ങളും, രാമായണമാസ ആചരണം, മഹാ ശിവരാത്രി, ആധ്യാത്മിക പ്രഭാഷണങ്ങൾ, ഭാഗവത സപ്താഹം, ഗീതയജ്ഞം തുടങ്ങിയ അനേകം ആത്മീയ പരിപാടികൾ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നടന്നു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
