Kunnaru Sri Mookambika Temple, located in the picturesque valley of Ezhimala, is considered one of the oldest temples in Kannur district.
The presiding deity here is Goddess Sri Mookambika, revered as the embodiment of power, knowledge, and divine grace.
According to legend, a devout Namboothiri, who was a staunch devotee of Goddess Mookambika, consecrated the deity at Kunnaru accompanied by an old man, believed to be a divine presence.
Along with Mookambika Devi, the temple also houses the deities Veerabhadra, Bhadrakali, and Vanasasthav, who are worshipped with equal reverence.
Navratri festival is the most important celebration at the temple, marked by vibrant rituals, traditional performances, and spiritual fervor. Prathishta Dinam (inauguration anniversary) of the temple is another significant event, drawing large numbers of devotees and cultural enthusiasts every year.
കുന്നരു ശ്രീ മൂകാംബികാ ക്ഷേത്രം

ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ വീരഭദ്രൻ, ഭദ്രകാളി, വനശാസ്താവ് എന്നിവയും ഉപദേവതകളായി ആരാധിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ഉത്സവമായി നവരാത്രി ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു. ഈ മഹോത്സവത്തിനിടെ, ഒൻപത് ദിവസം നീണ്ടുനിൽക്കുന്ന സരസ്വതിപൂജയും വിജയദശമിയോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് വിദ്യാരംഭം ചടങ്ങും അതി പ്രാധാന്യമുള്ളവയാണ്. തുലാം മാസത്തിൽ (സെപ്റ്റംബർ-ഒക്ടോബർ) സരസ്വതിപൂജയും നവരാത്രി ഉത്സവവും ആയിരക്കണക്കിന് ഭക്തരെ ആകർഷിക്കുന്നു. വിജയദശമി ദിനത്തിൽ കുട്ടികളെ ആദ്യമായി എഴുത്തിനിരുത്തുന്ന വിദ്യാരംഭം ചടങ്ങ് നടക്കുന്നു.
