Pallikkunnu Sree Mookambika Devi Temple, located just 3.8 km from Kannur, is a renowned shrine dedicated to Goddess Mookambika.
The temple is believed to have been established by the great Indian philosopher Adi Shankaracharya, who installed the idol of the deity nearly 1200 years ago.

വേദാന്ത തത്വചിന്തകനായ ആദി ശങ്കരാചാര്യർ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥാപിച്ചതായാണ് ഐതിഹ്യം. ഏകദേശം 1200 വർഷങ്ങൾക്ക് മുൻപാണ് അദ്ദേഹം ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ദേവിയുടെ വിഗ്രഹം പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചതായി കരുതപ്പെടുന്നത്.
ശ്രീ മൂകാംബികാദേവിയെ മഹാലക്ഷ്മി, ശക്തി, സരസ്വതി എന്നീ മൂന്നും ദേവതകളുടെ സംയുക്ത രൂപമായി ആരാധിക്കുന്നു.
