Acheri Sri Mahavishnu Temple, located in Uduma, Kasaragod district, is one of the famous and ancient temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu in North Kerala.
Set against a scenic backdrop of rivers, mountains, valleys, fields, and the Arabian Sea, the temple holds historical and spiritual significance.
It is believed that the temple was once immensely prosperous but fell into a dilapidated state over time. However, it was later renovated, restoring its grandeur.
The presiding deity, Lord Vishnu, is enshrined facing east. The temple is adorned with a magnificent tower at the entrance, and the temple pond adds to its serene beauty.
Annual temple festival is celebrated in the month of Kumbha with great devotion. Vishu and Thiruvonam are also observed with deep reverence, drawing devotees from far and wide.
അച്ചേരി ശ്രീ മഹാവിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രം
കാസർഗോഡ് ജില്ലയിലെ ഉദുമയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന അച്ചേരി ശ്രീ മഹാവിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രം ചരിത്രപ്രസിദ്ധവും പൗരാണികവുമായ മഹാവിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണ്. പുഴകൾ, മലകൾ, താഴ്വരകൾ, വയലുകൾ, പടിഞ്ഞാറ് അറബിക്കടൽ എന്നിവ ഒരുമിച്ച് രൂപീകരിക്കുന്ന മനോഹരമായ പ്രകൃതി പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിൽ ഈ ദേവസ്ഥാനം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നു.
പ്രാചീനകാലങ്ങളിൽ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം വളരെ സമ്പന്നമായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. എന്നാൽ കാലപ്പഴക്കം മൂലം ഇത് ഏറെക്കാലം ജീർണ്ണാവസ്ഥയിൽ ആയിരുന്നു.
പിന്നീട് ക്ഷേത്രം നവീകരിച്ച് തേജസ്സ് പുനഃസ്ഥാപിച്ചു. പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠയായ മഹാവിഷ്ണു കിഴക്കോട്ടു ദർശനം നൽകുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് മുൻവശമുള്ള ഭംഗിയാർന്ന ഗോപുരവും ശാന്തത തുളുമ്പുന്ന ക്ഷേത്രക്കുളവും ഏറെ ആകർഷകങ്ങളാണ്.
അച്ചേരി ശ്രീ മഹാവിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രോത്സവം കുംഭ മാസത്തിൽ ഭക്തിപൂർവ്വം ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു.
