Changamkulangara Mahadeva Temple is a historic Shiva temple situated in Changamkulangara, close to Ochira in the Kollam district.
The temple is situated in the tranquil village of Changankulangara, just 100 meters east of National Highway-47. Far removed from the city's hustle, the peaceful village atmosphere sets this temple apart. It is enclosed by a vast temple wall and features a large temple pond located on the north-east side.
The shrine is built in a square shape, adorned with numerous sculptures, though its exact age remains unknown.
Outside the nalampalam, on the west side of the large Balikkallu, Nandikeswara is enshrined. A unique feature of this temple is the presence of a deity with a single horn, which is uncommon in most temples.
The Namaskara Mandapam, located on the eastern side of the terrace within the nalampalam of the Mahadeva temple, stands as a beautiful example of Kerala's distinctive Dravidian architectural style. Built in a rectangular shape, the mandapam’s base and pillars are made of black stone, with the upper part thatched. The nalampalam and the Vilakkumadam, located just outside of it, add to the temple’s grandeur. The Vilakkumadam has been recently renovated, enhancing the temple's charm. The Dhwajastambha (flagpole) was installed in the 65th year of the temple’s history.
Sri Mahadeva shares equal importance with Dharmashastha in this temple. Additionally, deities such as Ganapati, Bhuvaneshwari, Indalayappan, Dharma Deivas, Ottakomban, and Rakshas are enshrined here. A distinctive feature is that an elephant, once part of the temple, has been deified and worshiped as a sub-deity.
The main festival of the temple is held during the month of Makaram. Apart from this, Maha Shivaratri in Kumbham and Mandala Puja during the months of Vruschikam and Dhanu are also celebrated. The Utthritathi festival in Makaram spans eight days, culminating in the Tiruvathira Aarattu.

ചങ്ങംകുളങ്ങര മഹാദേവക്ഷേത്രം കൊല്ലം ജില്ലയിലെ ഓച്ചിറക്ക് സമീപം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു പുരാതന ശിവക്ഷേത്രമാണ്. കരുനാഗപ്പള്ളി-ഓച്ചിറ ദേശീയപാതയിൽ ചങ്ങംകുളങ്ങര ജംഗ്ഷനിൽ നിന്ന് കിഴക്കോട്ട്, ചങ്ങംകുളങ്ങര-വള്ളിക്കുന്നം റോഡിന്റെ സമീപത്താണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. പരശുരാമൻ സ്ഥാപിച്ചുവെന്ന ഐതിഹ്യം ഉള്ള ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം നൂറ്റെട്ട് ശിവക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നായി പ്രശസ്തമാണ്. ഏകദേശം 1100 വർഷങ്ങൾ പഴക്കമുള്ള ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം, ഉദ്ദിഷ്ട കാര്യങ്ങൾ സാധ്യമാക്കാൻ ധാരാളം ഭക്തർ സന്ദർശിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലമാണ്. 21 ദിവസത്തെ നിർമ്മാല്യ ദർശനം നടത്തി പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചാൽ, ഭക്തർ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങൾ പരമേശ്വരൻ സാധ്യമാക്കുമെന്ന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.

ശ്രീ മഹാദേവനോടൊപ്പം ധർമ്മശാസ്താവിന് സമാനമായ സ്ഥാനം ഇവിടെ നല്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ധർമ്മശാസ്താവിനെ കൂടാതെ ഗണപതി, ഭുവനേശ്വരി, ഇണ്ടിളയപ്പൻ, ധർമ്മദൈവങ്ങൾ, ഒറ്റക്കൊമ്പൻ, രക്ഷസ്സ് എന്നീ ഉപദേവന്മാരുടെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠകളും ഈ ക്ഷേത്ര സമുച്ചയത്തിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. പണ്ടു ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ഒരു ആനയെ ഉപദേവനായി പരിഗണിക്കുന്നതും ഈ സ്ഥലത്തിന്റെ പ്രത്യേകതയാണ്.
പ്രധാന ഉത്സവം മകരമാസത്തിൽ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. കൂടാതെ കുംഭമാസത്തിലെ ശിവരാത്രിയും വൃശ്ചികം-ധനുമാസങ്ങളിലെ മണ്ഡലപൂജയും ഇവിടെ ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു. മകരമാസത്തിലെ ഉത്തൃട്ടാതി കൊടിയേറി തിരുവാതിര ആറാട്ടു വരത്തേക്കുള്ള എട്ടുദിവസങ്ങളിലെ ഉത്സവമാണ്.
