Erattakulangara MahaVishnu Temple Karikode Peroor Kollam

This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who is portrayed in accordance with traditional Shastra as the Sovereign of the Land. He is positioned on a pedestal, bestowing blessings upon devotees while holding a conch shell, chakra, mace, and lotus (padma) in his hands. A significant feature of this temple is the ten-day Pooyam Mahotsavam, celebrated during the Malayalam month of Kumbham, which is a grand and vibrant festival. One of the most exhilarating events during this celebration is the Tiru - Anki procession, which takes place on the day of the temple's dedication.

In this procession, the ornate golden attire (Thangathiruangi) of Lord Vishnu is carried, commencing from the Ashram Sri Krishna Swamy Temple Sannidhi. The procession is accompanied by Gajaveera (elephant), Panchavadyam (traditional temple music), and traverses various locations, including Ashram Muthumari Ammankovi, Altharamudu Sri Krishnaswamy Temple, Nair's Hospital Junction, Katappakada Sri Dharma Shasta Temple, Randamkutti Junction, Sreedharmasasth Temple, and Kallumthazham, before concluding at Sree Narayanapuram Temple. The procession then continues to Sri Aniyil Bhagavathy Temple, heading southwards to Kuttichira, visiting Sri Bhagavathi Temple, Rayaramuk, and Ramanujavilasam Library Junction along the way. After receiving grand receptions at Kuttichira, the procession returns to the Erattakulangara Maha Vishnu Temple.

Upon arrival, the Lord's Thangathiruangi is welcomed with great reverence, including traditional offerings such as Nilavilakku (oil lamps), Nirapara (heaped offerings of rice), lamps, and floral decorations. Erattakulangara Maha Vishnu Temple is also an important participant in the 'Kollampuram' festival, which concludes the 10-day festivities at the Ashramam Sri Krishna Swamy Temple. Processions from various temples, including the Erattakulangara Sri Maha Vishnu Temple, Koikkal Sri Dharma Shasta Temple, Ashramam Muneeswara Swamy Temple, and Thumpara Sribhadra Durga Devi Temple, all converge at the Ashramam Temple. A major attraction of this event is the Kollam Poram, where around 30 elephants, representing Lord Mahaganapati and Puthiyakavu Bhagavathy, take part in a spectacular display. The elephants exchange decorative parasols in a traditional ritual known as Kudamattam, which is one of the highlights of the festival. The celebration concludes with a grand final ceremony called Upacharam, marking the end of the festivities.

ഇരട്ടക്കുളങ്ങര മഹാവിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രം

കൊല്ലം ജില്ലയിലെ കിളികൊല്ലൂരിലുള്ള കാരിക്കോട് ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രശസ്തമായ ഇരട്ടക്കുളങ്ങര മഹാവിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രം മഹാവിഷ്ണുവിന് സമർപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ശ്രീ മഹാവിഷ്ണു ഭഗവാൻ സർവ്വാഭീഷ്ടവരദായകനും ഷഢാധാരചക്രങ്ങളുടെ (മൂലാധാരം, സ്വാധിഷ്ഠാനം, മണിപൂരകം, ആനാഹതം, വിശുദ്ധി, ആജ്ഞ) ആധാരനായ പീഠത്തിൽ ഭക്തരെ അനുഗ്രഹം നല്കുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ഉത്സവമായ കുംഭമാസത്തിലെ പത്തു ദിവസം നീണ്ടുനിൽക്കുന്ന പൂയം മഹോത്സവം വളരെ ആവേശകരമാണ്. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠാദിനമായ പൂയം മഹോത്സവത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി നടക്കുന്ന തിരുഅങ്കി ഘോഷയാത്ര ഒരു നാടിനെയാകെത്തന്നെ ഉണർവ് നൽകുന്നു. ശ്രീ മഹാവിഷ്ണു ഭഗവാന്റെ തങ്കതിരുഅങ്കി വഹിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുള്ള ഈ ഘോഷയാത്ര, ഗജവീരനും പഞ്ചവാദ്യവാദകരും അകമ്പടിയോടെ, ആശ്രമം ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നിന്നാരംഭിക്കുന്നു.

അത് ആശ്രമം മുത്തുമാരി അമ്മൻകോവിൽ, ആൽത്തറമുട് ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം, നായേഴ്സ് ആശുപത്രി ജംഗ്ഷൻ, കടപ്പാക്കട ശ്രീ ധർമ്മശാസ്താ ക്ഷേത്രം, കല്ലുംതാഴം ശ്രീനാരായണപുരം ക്ഷേത്രം, ശ്രീ ആനിയിൽ ഭഗവതിക്ഷേത്രം എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലൂടെ പ്രയാണം ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഇറക്കം തിരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു വരുന്ന ഘോഷയാത്രയെ വീടുകളിലും വഴികളിലും നിറപറകളും നിലവിളക്കുകളുമായി കാത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ജനങ്ങൾ വൻ വരവേൽപ്പ് നൽകുന്നു. ഇരട്ടക്കുളങ്ങര മഹാവിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രം ആശ്രമം ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ 10-ദിവസത്തെ ഉത്സവത്തിന് സമാപനം കുറിക്കുന്ന പ്രസിദ്ധമായ ‘കൊല്ലംപൂരം’ ആഘോഷത്തിന്റെ ഒരു പ്രധാന പങ്കാളിയുമാണ്. ഈ മഹോത്സവത്തിൽ, ഇരട്ടക്കുളങ്ങര മഹാവിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രം, കോയിക്കൽ ശ്രീ ധർമ്മശാസ്താ ക്ഷേത്രം, തുമ്പാറ ശ്രീഭദ്ര ദുർഗാദേവി ക്ഷേത്രം എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ചെറുപൂരങ്ങൾ ആശ്രമം ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെത്തി പങ്കുചേരുന്നു. പ്രസിദ്ധമായ പൂരം ആഘോഷത്തിൽ, 30 ഓളം ആനകൾ വലിയ ചടങ്ങോടെ അലങ്കാരക്കുടകളും ഉപചാരങ്ങളും കൈമാറുന്ന കാഴ്ച കൊട്ടിഘോഷത്തോടെ ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നത് വലിയ ആകർഷണമായി മാറുന്നു.
