Vanchikovil Sree Saravana kshethram Eravipuram Kollam

Sri Saravana Temple is a Subrahmanya Swamy temple situated in Eravipuram, dedicated to Lord Subrahmanya.


The administration of the temple is currently managed by the general public. Previously, the temple was owned by the Vanchiyil family. It was founded by Kochu Kunju Muthalali, a devoted follower of Muruka. Due to his advanced age, he was unable to travel to Palani, prompting the construction of a temple to house the idol that was brought from Palani and consecrated there. Sri Saravana Temple holds significant importance during the Thaipuyam Festival. This festival is celebrated at the temple over a period of ten days with great splendor.

Special rituals such as Pujas, Kavadi Abhishekam, and Deepakazhcha are conducted in honor of Thaipuya Mahotsavam. The festivities also feature Thalapoli, Kalasam, Pushpabhishekam, Annadanam, and a variety of artistic performances. On the day of Thaipuya Mahotsavam, the Kettukazhcha, accompanied by caparisoned elephants, elaborate tableaus, and musical ensembles, serves as a major highlight of the celebration.The dedication day of the Lord occurs in the month of Makaram (January). On this occasion, Sahasrakalasha and special pujas are conducted with various rituals.

ഇരവിപുരം ശ്രീ ശരവണ ക്ഷേത്രം

കൊല്ലം നഗരപരിധിയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഇരവിപുരം, ലോകാരാധ്യനായ ശ്രീ നാരായണഗുരുദേവന്റെ പാദസ്പർശം കൊണ്ട് അനുഗ്രഹിതമായ ഒരു പുണ്യഭൂമിയാണ്. ഇവിടെ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ശ്രീ ശരവണ ക്ഷേത്രം, സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യസ്വാമിയുടെ ക്ഷേത്രമായി അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് സമീപം ഗുരുദേവ ക്ഷേത്രവും മൂലസ്ഥാനവും സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. ഗണപതി, ഹിഡുംബൻ എന്നിവരെ ഉപദേവന്മാരായി ആരാധിക്കുന്നു.
