Kannanellur Sree Dharmashasta Temple is situated in Kannanellur, within the Kollam district.
It is believed that Ayyappan and Vavaruswami dwell in this location. According to Hindu customs, Niranjanam is the primary ritual to conclude Shanidosha. Devotees from various parts of the world visit the Kannanallur Sreedharmashastha Temple on Saturdays seeking solace. The temple is renowned for its 41-day Mandala Chirap Mahotsav. During this celebration, Annadanam and other offerings are made on the hill, attracting numerous devotees. Evening rituals of Annadanam and Nivedya are also conducted in relation to this event. Each Karkidakam, a month-long recitation of the Ramayana takes place at the temple. Additionally, special pooja and Bhagavata parayanam are conducted on the first day of every Malayalam month, marking significant traditions of this temple.The Puram festival, celebrated during the month of Meenam, holds significant importance. The temple is managed by the Travancore Devaswom Board.

കൊല്ലം ജില്ലയിൽ കണ്ണനെല്ലുരിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പുരാതന കണ്ണനെല്ലൂർ ശ്രീ ധർമ്മശാസ്താ ക്ഷേത്രം, തൃക്കോവിൽവട്ടം ഗ്രാമപഞ്ചായത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന കണ്ണനല്ലൂർ ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. ഇവിടെ അയ്യപ്പനും വാവരും സ്വാമിയും പോലുള്ള ശക്തമായ ബന്ധങ്ങൾ നിലനിൽക്കുന്നു. ഹിന്ദുമതാചാരപ്രകാരം ശനിദോഷം തീരാൻ പ്രധാനമായ പൂജയായ നീരാഞ്ജനം ഇവിടെ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. കണ്ണനല്ലൂർ ശ്രീധർമ്മശാസ്താ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ശനിയാഴ്ചകളിൽ വിദേശങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുമുള്ള ഭക്തജനങ്ങൾ നീരാഞ്ജനം നടത്താൻ എത്തിച്ചേരാറുണ്ട്.
ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ 41 ദിവസത്തെ മണ്ഡല ചിറപ്പ് മഹോത്സവം ഏറെ പ്രശസ്തമാണ്. ഈ ചിറപ്പിനോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് അന്നദാനവും, കുന്നിൽ നിവേദ്യവും നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. നിരവധി ഭക്തജനങ്ങൾ ഈ ചടങ്ങുകളിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തുവരുന്നു. ചിറപ്പിനോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് അന്നദാനം, വൈകുന്നേരം നിവേദ്യങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. നിരവധി ഭക്തർ ഈ പരിപാടികളിൽ പങ്കെടുത്ത് വരുന്നു. എല്ലാ കർക്കിടക മാസത്തിലും നീണ്ടുനിൽക്കുന്ന രാമായണവായന ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ഈ ചടങ്ങുകൾ നടക്കുന്നു.
