Kollurvila Bharanikavu Bhagavathy temple is situated in Madannada, within the Kollam district of Kerala. This sacred site is devoted to Goddess Bhadrakali.
The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali. The Meena Bharani festival, celebrated during the Malayalam month of Meena (March – April), is the most significant event at the Kolloorvila Bharanikavu temple. A distinctive ritual known as Olakambham takes place on Kumbha Bharani day (February – March).
The annual celebration is renowned for events such as Meena Pongal and Thiruvabharana Ghoshayathra. The highlight of the Meena Bharani festival is the Nedum Kuthira Eduppu.
In addition to these festivities, the shrine hosts various other Bhagavati festivals and rituals, including the observance of Navratri with Ashtami, Navami, and Ezhuthiniruthu. This temple exemplifies traditional Kerala architecture, featuring a nalambalam, namaskara mandapam, and a chathura sreekovil. The temple faces west and includes shrines dedicated to upa devatas.
കൊല്ലൂർവിള ഭരണിക്കാവ് ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം
കൊല്ലം ജില്ലയിൽ മാടൻനടയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന കൊല്ലൂർവിള ഭരണിക്കാവ് ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം ഭദ്രകാളി ദേവിക്ക് സമർപ്പിച്ച ഒരു ക്ഷേത്രമാണ്. മീനമാസത്തിൽ (മാർച്ച് - ഏപ്രിൽ) ആഘോഷിക്കുന്ന മീന ഭരണി ഉത്സവം ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട ഉത്സവമാണ്. കുംഭ ഭരണി ദിനത്തിൽ (ഫെബ്രുവരി-മാർച്ച്) നടക്കുന്ന ഓലകമ്പം എന്ന പ്രത്യേക ആചാരവും ഇവിടെ കാണാം. വാർഷിക ഉത്സവമായ മീന പൊങ്കൽ, തിരുവാഭരണ ഘോഷയാത്ര എന്നിവയ്ക്കായി പ്രശസ്തമാണ് കൊല്ലൂർവിള ക്ഷേത്രം. മീന ഭരണി ഉത്സവത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ആകർഷണം നെടുംകുതിരയെടുപ്പാണ്. അഷ്ടമി, നവമി, എഴുത്തിനിരുത്ത് എന്നിവയോടുകൂടിയ നവരാത്രി ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള വിവിധ ഭഗവതി ഉത്സവങ്ങളും ആചാരങ്ങളും ഇവിടെ ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം നാലമ്പലവും നമസ്കാര മണ്ഡപവും ചതുര ശ്രീകോവിലും ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു പരമ്പരാഗത കേരള ശൈലിയിലുള്ള ക്ഷേത്രമാണ്, പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ഭാഗത്ത് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു.ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ഉപദേവതമാരുടെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠകളും ഉണ്ട്.
