As a prominent shrine in Pavitreswaram, the temple is surrounded by picturesque natural valleys, adding to its peaceful ambiance. In addition to the main deity, Lord Shiva, the temple also houses sub-deities, including Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganapati, and Lord Shasta, who together bestow blessings upon the devotees. The temple's annual festival begins with the traditional Kodiyettu ceremony, which is held on the Tiruvathira Nakshatra in the month of Kumbham. The festivities conclude on the seventh day with the grand Aarattu ritual.
