Polikode Shri Mahadevar Temple is situated in Polikode along the Andoor road within the Kollam district of Kerala. This sacred site is devoted to Mahadeva.
The annual festival at the temple is celebrated on the Rohini nakshatra day in Kumbha Masam. The temple also honors several upa devatas (sub-deities), including Ganapathi, Mahavishnu, Sastha, Goddess Durga, Nagas, and Yakshi. The festival is renowned for showcasing Kerala's temple art forms, vibrant processions, and intricate Tantric pujas and rituals. Architecturally, the temple features a Chathura Sreekovil with a Shivling, along with a chuttambalam and a namaskara mandapam. The temple celebrates various important festivals such as Vishu, Vinayaka Chathurthi, Shivratri, and Thrikarthika.
പൊലിക്കോട് ശ്രീ മഹാദേവർ ക്ഷേത്രം
കൊല്ലം ജില്ലയിലെ കൊട്ടാരക്കര-ആയൂർ റോഡിൽ പൊലിക്കോട് ജംഗ്ഷനിലാണ് പൊലിക്കോട് ശ്രീ മഹാദേവർ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. കൊട്ടാരക്കരയിൽ നിന്നും 12 കിലോമീറ്ററും ആയൂരിൽ നിന്നും 5 കിലോമീറ്ററും ആണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലേക്കുള്ള ദൂരം. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം മഹാദേവനാണ് സമർപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഗണപതി, മഹാവിഷ്ണു, ശാസ്താവ്, ദുർഗ്ഗാദേവി, നാഗദൈവങ്ങൾ, യക്ഷി എന്നിവരെയാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ആരാധിക്കുന്ന ഉപദേവതകൾ.
കുംഭ മാസത്തിലെ രോഹിണി നക്ഷത്ര ദിനത്തിലാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ വാർഷിക ഉത്സവം. വാർഷിക ഉത്സവം വിവിധ ക്ഷേത്രകലാരൂപങ്ങൾ, ഘോഷയാത്ര, താന്ത്രിക പൂജകൾ, ആചാരങ്ങൾ എന്നിവക്ക് പ്രസിദ്ധമാണ്. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ചുറ്റമ്പലവും നമസ്കാര മണ്ഡപവും ശിവലിംഗമുള്ള ചതുര ശ്രീകോവിലാണ് വിഷു, വിനായക ചതുർത്ഥി, ശിവരാത്രി, തൃക്കാർത്തിക തുടങ്ങി എല്ലാ വിശേഷ ദിവസങ്ങളും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ആചരിക്കുന്നു.
