Pozhikkara Devi Temple is situated in close proximity to Paravur within the Kollam District.
The annual temple festival takes place in the month of Makaram and spans a duration of ten days. The shrine is situated in close proximity to the Arabian Sea. The most significant day of the festival is marked by the Vishakam Nakshatra, which also falls within the Makaram month. For this occasion, the temple is traditionally adorned with plantain, coconut leaves, flowers, foliage, and various traditional lamps and lights.
The festival is characterized by a series of rituals, commencing with kodiyettam and culminating in arattu. The celebration features a procession that includes characters from Hindu epics, melam, fireworks, and sheevali. Throughout the festival, traditional performing arts, music, and dance are showcased. A large number of attendees gather to observe the diverse rituals and festivities. Elements such as Kazhcha seeveli, Ayilyam oottu, Sree Bali, and Sopana Sangeetham are integral to the festival, which concludes with the Arattu ceremony. Additionally, the temple hosts another significant event, the annual Navratri Puja.

ശില്പകലയുടെ അതുല്യമായ കലയ്ക്ക് പ്രശസ്തമായ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം, മകരമാസത്തിൽ പത്ത് ദിവസം നീണ്ടുനിൽക്കുന്ന ക്ഷേത്രോത്സവം നടത്തുന്നു. വാർഷിക ഉത്സവത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട ദിവസം മകരമാസത്തിലെ വിശാഖം നക്ഷത്രമാണ്. വിവിധ ആചാരങ്ങൾക്കും ചടങ്ങുകൾക്കും പേരുകേട്ട ഈ ഉത്സവം, കൊടിയേറ്റത്തോടെ ആരംഭിച്ച് ആറാട്ടോടെ സമാപിക്കുന്നു. കാഴ്ചശീവേലി, ആയില്യം ഊട്ട്, ശ്രീബലി, സോപാന സംഗീതം എന്നിവ ഉത്സവത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമാണ്. ദിവസവും നൂറുകണക്കിനാളുകൾ വിവിധ ചടങ്ങുകൾക്കും ആഘോഷങ്ങൾക്കും സാക്ഷ്യം വഹിക്കാൻ എത്തുന്നു. നവരാത്രി പൂജയും, കാർത്തികവിളക്കും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ മറ്റൊരു പ്രധാന ആഘോഷങ്ങളാണ്.
