Puthanambalam Devi Temple is located in Ivarkala, a village situated along the banks of the Kallada River in the Kunnathur taluk of the Kollam district. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Devi, who is revered in the form of Bhadrakali.
Goddess Devi is worshiped at the Putthanambalam Devi Temple in the form of Bhadrakali, who protects all living beings by destroying forces of terror that threaten the universe. This ancient temple is a revered holy shrine where devotees seek prosperity, success (siddhi), and healing from all evils.
The temple's main special day is the Thiruvathirunal Mahotsav, celebrated in the month of Dhanu.
As part of the festival, traditional rituals like Parayidal (offering to the deity), Thottampattu (devotional songs), Kettukazhcha (grand displays), and Kalamezhuthu Paattu (ritualistic art and songs) are performed. Other significant events include the Makarapongala Mahotsavam, the Pratishtha Anniversary, and the Navaratri Mahotsavam, which are also observed with great devotion and festivity.

ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ഉത്സവം ധനുമാസത്തിലെ തിരുവാതിരുനാൾ മഹോത്സവമാണ്. ഈ മഹോത്സവം വളരെ ഗംഭീരമായി ആഘോഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ഉത്സവത്തിൻറെ ഭാഗമായി പറയിടൽ, കെട്ടുകാഴ്ച, കളമെഴുത്ത് പാട്ട് എന്നിവ നടത്തുന്നു.
മകരപൊങ്കാല മഹോത്സവം, പ്രതിഷ്ഠാ വാർഷികം, നവരാത്രി മഹോത്സവം എന്നിവയും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ മറ്റു വിശേഷ ദിവസങ്ങളാണ്. മണ്ഡല മകരവിളക്കിനും പ്രത്യേക ചടങ്ങുകളാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നടക്കുന്നത്, പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് ദീപക്കാഴ്ചയും അന്നേ ദിവസം നടക്കുന്ന മറ്റു ചടങ്ങുകളും ഭക്തർക്ക് വളരെ ആകർഷകമാണ്.
