Puthoor Pangode Devi temple is situated in Puthoor, within the Kollam district of Kerala. This sacred site is devoted to the worship of Goddess Devi.
The annual Kumbha Bharani festival, held in the Malayalam month of Kumbham (February–March), is one of the most important festivals at the temple. This celebration is marked by various traditional rituals and festivities, drawing numerous devotees. The temple is built in the classic Kerala architectural style with a chathura sreekovil.
The shrine is oriented facing the east, a typical feature in many Kerala temples. The complex also includes a chuttambalam , a namaskara mandapam, shrines dedicated to upa devatas , and a kodimaram or dhwaja stambha, which are significant elements of Kerala temple architecture. In addition to the Kumbha Bharani festival, the temple also observes other important annual events such as prathishta dinam, Navratri, and Thrikarthika festivals, all celebrated with devotion and grandeur. These festivals are deeply rooted in local traditions and are eagerly awaited by the devotees every year.
പുത്തൂർ പാങ്ങോട് ദേവീക്ഷേത്രം
കുംഭമാസത്തിൽ (ഫെബ്രുവരി–മാർച്ച്) ആഘോഷിക്കുന്ന കുംഭഭരണി ഉത്സവം ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട ഉത്സവങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ്. പരമ്പരാഗത ആചാരങ്ങളും ചടങ്ങുകളും അടങ്ങിയ ഈ ഉത്സവം നിരവധി ഭക്തജനങ്ങളെ ആകർഷിക്കുന്നു. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം പരമ്പരാഗത കേരള ശൈലിയിൽ നിർമിച്ച ചതുരശ്രീകോവിലോടുകൂടിയതാണ്.
ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ചുറ്റമ്പലം, നമസ്കാരമണ്ഡപം, ഉപദേവതാ സന്നിധികൾ, കൊടിമരം എന്നിവയും ഉണ്ട്, ഇവയെല്ലാം കേരള ക്ഷേത്ര ശിൽപ്പശാസ്ത്രത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന ഘടകങ്ങളാണ്.കുംഭഭരണി ഉത്സവത്തിന് പുറമേ, പ്രതിവർഷം പ്രതിഷ്ഠാ ദിനം, നവരാത്രി, തൃക്കാർത്തിക തുടങ്ങിയ പ്രധാന ഉത്സവങ്ങളും ആചാരപൂർവം ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു. ഈ ഉത്സവങ്ങൾ എല്ലാം ഭക്തിസാന്ദ്രമായും ഭക്തർ ആകാംക്ഷയോടെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നവയുമാണ്.
