Nallila village is located seven kilometers from Kundera in the Kollam district, home to the renowned Thiru Pazhangalam Sri Dharmashasta Temple.
Thiru Pazhangalam Sri Dharmashasta Temple is a sacred place for the people of Perumpuzha, Pazhangalam, and Nedumbana. Dedicated to Lord Sri Dharmashasta, this temple holds great significance in the region. The seven-day annual festival, known as Uttaram Thirunal Mahotsavam, is celebrated with grandeur on the Utram day of Kumbham month. The festivities begin with Thiru Kodiyettu and culminate with Kodiyirakkam after Palliveta and Thiru Aarattu.
The festival features vibrant art performances, musical evenings, processions, the majestic ezhunnallippu of caparisoned elephants, Thalapoli, and special offerings. Uttaram Thirunal Mahotsavam is regarded as the national festival of the Nallila community. All special days are observed with devotion in the temple, and during the Mandala period, the temple holds significance for 41 days, with Makaravilakku being an important celebration along with the lamp festival. Devotees also partake in Azhi Pooja and Shasthampaattu with great reverence during every Mandala season, adding to the spiritual fervor of the temple.
തിരു പഴങ്ങാലം ശ്രീധർമ്മശാസ്താ ക്ഷേത്രം
കൊല്ലം ജില്ലയിലെ കുണ്ടറയിൽ നിന്ന് ഏഴ് കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയാണ് നല്ലില ഗ്രാമം. ഇവിടെ പ്രസിദ്ധമായ തിരു പഴങ്ങാലം ശ്രീധർമ്മശാസ്താ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. ഉപദേവതകളായി ശ്രീ പരമേശ്വരൻ, ഗണപതി, നാഗദൈവങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയും ഉണ്ട്. ഏഴ് ദിവസത്തെ വാർഷിക ഉത്സവം കുംഭമാസത്തിലെ ഉത്രം നാളിലാണ് നടത്തുന്നത്. ഈ ഉത്സവം ഉത്രം തിരുനാൾ മഹോത്സവം എന്ന പേരിൽ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. തിരു കൊടിയേറ്റോടെ ആരംഭിക്കുന്ന ഈ ഉത്സവം, പള്ളിവേട്ടയും തിരുഃആറാട്ടും കഴിഞ്ഞ് കൊടിയിറക്കത്തോടെ സമാപിക്കുന്നു.
ഉത്സവത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് വർണ്ണാഭമായ കലാപരിപാടികൾ, സംഗീത സായാഹ്നങ്ങൾ, കെട്ടുകാഴ്ചകൾ, ഗജവീരന്മാരുടെ എഴുന്നള്ളിപ്പ്, താലപ്പൊലി, പ്രത്യേക വഴിപാടുകൾ എന്നിവ ഉത്സവത്തിന് പ്രത്യേക ആകർഷണം നൽകുന്നു. നല്ലില സ്വദേശികളുടെ ദേശീയോത്സവമാണ് ഉത്രംതിരുന്നാൾ മഹോത്സവം. എല്ലാ വിശേഷദിവസങ്ങളും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു. മണ്ഡലകാലത്ത് 41 ദിവസവും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ പ്രത്യേകമായാണ് ആഘോഷങ്ങൾ നടത്തുന്നത്. മകരവിളക്കിന് വിളക്ക് മഹോത്സവം നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. ആഴിപൂജയും ശാസ്‌താംപാട്ടും എല്ലാ മണ്ഡലക്കാലത്തും ഭക്തിപൂർവകമായി നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.
