Thrikkonnamarkod Sree Durga Devi Temple is situated in the village of Thalavoor, within the Pathanapuram taluk of the Kollam district.
The Sri Durga Devi Temple located in Thalavoor Thrikkonnamarkod is a significant shrine dedicated to Durga Devi in South Kerala. The principal deity worshipped here is Durga, manifested as Mahishasura Mardini. Additionally, the temple houses various sub-deities, including Ganapati, Murugan, Yakshi Nata, Rakshassa, Rpakkava - the Naga King, Naga Yakshi, Yogishwaran, and the Navagrahas.
A notable event at this temple is the Thalavoor Pooram, celebrated on the Pooram day of the Kumbham month.
The preparations for this festival commence when local residents gather in front of the Goddess Temple during Kumbham, pledging to engage in activities with lively enthusiasm. In the presence of local dignitaries, twelve representatives from the southern and northern Karas raise their voices in a ceremonial shout, marking the conclusion of the initial rites with a cacophony of sounds. Subsequently, the goddess is believed to invite the community to celebrate her birthday and partake in the Parayiteel ceremony. The locals consider it their responsibility to fund the festival and feast, contributing a portion of their grains or savings to the goddess for this purpose.
The Parayiteel ceremony in Nadukand spans approximately 20 days, culminating in the festival held before the Devi upon her return from the countryside. Significant special occasions at the temple include: Talavoor Pooram (the Pooram day in the month of Kumbha), Thalavoor Pongala (the first Sunday of the month of Makara), Thaipuya Mahotsavam, the Navaratri festival which marks the commencement of education, Shashti Vratam with the Lemon Lamp (the first Sunday of the Malayalam month), Vilakku Pooja (the last Friday of the Malayalam month), Ramayana Masacharan (the Mandalachirappu Festival), and the Navratri Festival.

തലവൂർ ഗ്രാമം, കൊല്ലം ജില്ലയിലെ പത്തനാപുരം താലൂക്കിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രശസ്തമായ തൃക്കൊന്നമർക്കോട് ശ്രീ ദുർഗാദേവീക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥാനം കുന്നിക്കോട് - പട്ടാഴി പാതയിൽ കുന്നിക്കോട്ടിൽ നിന്നും 3 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയാണ്. കേരളപ്പിറവിക്ക് മുമ്പ് 1742 വരെ കൊട്ടാരക്കരയുടെ തലസ്ഥാനമായ ഇളയിടത്തിൻറെ ഭാഗമായിരുന്നു തലവൂർ. ആ കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ, ഇളയിടത്തിലെ പ്രധാന വകുപ്പുകളിലെ തലവൻമാർ ഈ പ്രദേശത്തുനിന്നുള്ളവരായിരുന്നു. അതിനാൽ, തലവൻമാരുടെ ഊർ എന്ന അർത്ഥത്തിൽ തലവൂർ എന്ന പേര് ലഭിച്ചു. ദാരികനിഗ്രഹം എന്ന തിരു കൊലയുടെ ശബ്ദം കേട്ട ഇടം എന്ന അർത്ഥത്തിൽ തൃക്കൊന്നമർക്കോട് എന്ന പേര് ലഭിച്ചതാണ്. കോട് എന്ന സ്ഥലത്തിന് സ്ഥലം എന്നർത്ഥമുണ്ട്.
ദക്ഷിണ കേരളത്തിലെ ഒരു പ്രധാന ദുർഗാ ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രമാണു തലവൂർ തൃക്കൊന്നമർക്കോട് ശ്രീ ദുർഗാ ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രം. മഹിഷാസുര മർദ്ദിനി ഭാവത്തിലുള്ള ദുർഗ്ഗയാണു ഇവിടുത്തെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ. തിരുവതാംകൂർ പട നായകൻമാരായിരുന്ന പൂന്നി നായൻമാരുടെ കുല ദേവതയാണ്. അക്കാലത്തെ വലിയ അഭ്യന്തര പ്രശ്നം മൂലം രാജാവിൻറെ നിർദേശ പ്രകാരം കുടുംബ സമേതം ചെമ്പകശ്ശേരിയിലേക്ക് നാട് കടക്കുകയും ചെമ്പകശ്ശേരി രാജാവ് പ്രത്യേക പരിചരണവും ഭൂമിയും നൽകി ആചരിച്ചു. ചെമ്പകശ്ശേരി കരുമാടി കണ്യകോണിൽ വര്യന്തറ എന്ന കുടുംബമായി. പിന്നീട് തിരികെ സ്വന്തം നാട്ടിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങാൻ ആയില്ല എന്നും കുടുംബ കാർന്നവന്മാർ പറയുന്നു
ഗണപതി, മുരുകൻ, യക്ഷി നട, രക്ഷസ്സ, നാഗരാജാവ്, നാഗയക്ഷി, യോഗീശ്വരൻ, നവഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയെ ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുന്ന ഉപദേവന്മാർ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ സന്നിഹിതരാണ്. ചരിത്രപരമായി പ്രശസ്തമായ തലവൂർ പൂരം ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നടക്കുന്നു. കുംഭ മാസത്തിലെ പൂരം ദിനത്തിൽ ഈ ഉത്സവം ആഘോഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ദേവീക്ഷേത്ര സന്നിധിയിൽ കുംഭമാസത്തിൽ നാട്ടുകാർ ഒത്തുകൂടി "കീഴ്പ്പതിവുപോൽ പതിവടിയന്തരങ്ങൾ നടത്തിക്കൊള്ളാം" എന്ന പ്രതിജ്ഞയോടെ പിരിയുന്നതോടെ പൂരത്തിന്റെ ഒരുക്കങ്ങൾ ആരംഭിക്കുന്നു. നാട്ടുപ്രമാണികളുടെ സാന്നിധ്യത്തിൽ, തെക്കും വടക്കും ചേരികളുടെ പ്രതിനിധികളായി 12 പേർ വീതം ഇരുവശങ്ങളിലായി കരവിളിച്ച് നടത്തുന്ന ചടങ്ങ് ആർപ്പുവിളികളും ആരവങ്ങളുമായി പിരിയുന്നു.
