Chingavanam Shiva Temple, situated 2.5 kilometers from Chingavanam in the Kottayam district, is also referred to as the Simhodaraswamy Temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Simhodaran is venerated in numerous locations throughout Kerala. A notable shrine dedicated to Simhodaran is situated on the eastern side of the Thrissur Sri Vadakkumnathan Temple. He is regarded as a servant of Lord Shiva. Devotees are encouraged to worship Simhodaran, the servant of Lord Shiva.
The name Simhodaran translates to "one with a belly like a lion." Additionally, Nandi, Bhringi, Kumbhan, Kumbhodaran, Bhringiriti, Nikumbhan, Rishabhan, and other Bhoothaganas of Lord Shiva are also recognized.

ചിങ്ങവനത്തുനിന്ന് 2.5 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയാണ് കോട്ടയം ജില്ലയിലെ ചിങ്ങവനം ശിവ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. ശിവക്ഷേത്രമായിട്ടും, ഇത് സിംഹോദരസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രമായി അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. കേരളത്തിലെ വിവിധ സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ സിംഹോദരന്റെ ആരാധന വ്യാപകമാണ്. തൃശൂർ ശ്രീ വടക്കുംനാഥൻ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ കിഴക്കേ നടയിൽ സിംഹോദരനുള്ള പ്രത്യേക ശ്രീകോവിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു.
ശിവന്റെ ഭൂതഗണത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു ഭൃത്യനാണ് സിംഹോദരൻ. ശിവഭൃത്യനായ സിംഹോദരനെ ആദരിക്കുക. (സിംഹത്തിൻറെ തുപോലുള്ള വയറോടുകൂടിയവൻ എന്നതാണ് സിംഹോദരൻ എന്ന വാക്കിന്റെ അർത്ഥം). നന്ദി, ഭൃംഗി, കുംഭൻ, കുംഭോദരൻ, ഭൃംഗിരീടി, നികുംഭൻ, ഋഷഭൻ എന്നിവയാണ് പരമേശ്വരന്റെ മറ്റ് ഭൂതഗണങ്ങൾ.
