Kalikavu Sri Balasubramanya Temple is a renowned place of worship situated in Pakalomattom, within the Kottayam district.
Kalikavu Sree Balasubramanya Temple, a centuries-old sacred shrine, has recently undergone renovations, preserving its historical and spiritual significance. As part of this restoration, a new Dwaja Prathishta (flagpole installation) was conducted, and the reconstructed temple was consecrated with great devotion.
Additionally, a Panchaloha (five-metal) idol of Sree Narayana Gurudeva was installed, further enriching the temple’s sanctity.
The temple's main deity is Lord Subramanya (Murugan), the Hindu god of war, who is worshipped in the Vattasreekovil (circular sanctum sanctorum) facing east. Subramanya is widely revered as the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, embodying divine valor, wisdom, and protection. He is often depicted as a youthful deity wielding a spear (Vel) and riding a peacock, symbolizing his role as the commander of the celestial army and the vanquisher of evil forces.

കോട്ടയം ജില്ലയിലെ പ്രശസ്തമായ പകലോമറ്റത്ത് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് കാളികാവ് ശ്രീ ബാലസുബ്രമണ്യ ക്ഷേത്രം. നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകളുടെ പഴക്കം പുലർത്തുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം നവീകരണപ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾക്കു ശേഷം 2022 ഫെബ്രുവരി മാസത്തിൽ ധ്വജപ്രതിഷ്ഠ, ക്ഷേത്ര സമർപ്പണം, പുനഃപ്രതിഷ്ഠ, കൂടാതെ ശ്രീ നാരായണ ഗുരുദേവന്റെ പഞ്ചലോഹ വിഗ്രഹ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ എന്നിവ നിർവഹിച്ചു. വട്ടശ്രീകോവിലിൽ കിഴക്കോട്ടു ദർശനമായി സ്ഥാപിച്ച ശ്രീ സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യസ്വാമി ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠയാണ്.
