Nethalloor Sri Bhagavathi Temple is situated in close proximity to Karukachal, within the Kottayam district of Kerala.
Changanasserry-Vazhoor and Kottayam-Punalur state highways converge at the Nethalloor junction, located 19 kilometers from Kottayam via the Karukachal route and 16 kilometers from Changanasserry via the Vazhoor route.
This site is renowned for housing one of the prominent Durga Bhagavathi shrines in Kerala.
The installation of Bhagavathi Durga is represented in the form of Mahishasuramardini. It is recognized as one of the exquisite "chathurbahu" Bhagavathi installations in the state.
The principal festival celebrated at this temple is the "Thrikkarthika Maholsavam," which occurs in the month of "Vrischikam" (November-December), alongside the "Navarathri" festival.
The chief priest (Thanthri) of this temple is Sri Paramboor Illathu Neela Kandan Bhattathirippadu, while the Champakara NSS Karayogom is responsible for the temple's administration.
നെത്തലൂർ ക്ഷേത്രം, കറുകച്ചാൽ
കോട്ടയം-പുതുപ്പള്ളി-കറുകച്ചാൽ റോഡ് ചങ്ങനാശേരി വാഴൂർ റോഡിൽ ചേരുന്ന ജംഗ്ഷനിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു നെത്തലൂർ ക്ഷേത്രം. നെത്തലൂർ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഏകദേശം 2 കിലോമീറ്റർ വടക്കായി സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ചമ്പക്കര ക്ഷേത്രം, കറുകച്ചാലിൽ നിന്ന് ചമ്പക്കര വഴി 4.3 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലത്തിലാണ്. നെത്തലൂർ ക്ഷേത്രവും ചമ്പക്കര ക്ഷേത്രവും ചമ്പക്കര പ്രദേശത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളാണ്.
ഈ രണ്ടു ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളുടെ മേൽനോട്ടം ചമ്പക്കര എൻ.എൻ.എസ് കരയോഗം വഹിക്കുന്നു. കേരളത്തിലെ പ്രശസ്ത ദുർഗ്ഗാദേവി ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നായ നെത്തലൂർ ദേവീക്ഷേത്രം "മഹിഷാസുരമർദിനി" എന്ന ഭാവത്തിൽ ദുർഗ്ഗാദേവിയെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിക്കുന്നു. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ഉത്സവം 'വൃശ്ചിക' മാസത്തിൽ (നവംബർ-ഡിസംബർ) നടക്കുന്ന "തൃക്കാർത്തിക മഹോൽസവമാണ്". ഇതിന് പുറമെ "നവരാത്രി" ഉത്സവവും ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു.
ഈ കാലയളവിൽ നിരവധി പ്രത്യേക പൂജകൾ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു, ഉദാഹരണത്തിന് നവചണ്ഡികാഹോമം, മഹാഞ്ജന സാരസ്വത യജ്ഞം, ത്രിപുരസുന്ദരി തത്ത്വ സമീക്ഷ സത്രം, ശക്തിത്രയ തത്ത്വ സമീക്ഷ സത്രം എന്നിവ. പ്രധാന ഉത്സവകാലത്ത് "അൻപൊലി" എന്ന ചടങ്ങ് ഏറെ പ്രശസ്തമാണ്. ക്ഷേത്ര സന്നിധിയിൽ ദേവനു മുന്നിൽ പറയുന്ന വാക്കുകൾ തിരുമുമ്പിൽ പറയേണ്ടതാണെന്ന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.
കൂടാതെ, വീടുകളിൽ പറയാൻ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ഒരു പ്രത്യേക രീതിയും നിലവിലുണ്ട്. ദേവനെ മേളത്തിൻറെ അകമ്പടിയോടെ എഴുന്നെള്ളിച്ചാണ് വീടുകളിൽ എത്തിക്കുന്നത്. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനുള്ളിലെ ഉപദേവതകൾ: ഗണപതി, വീരഭദ്രൻ.
ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് പുറത്തുള്ള ഉപദേവതകൾ അയ്യപ്പൻ (വില്ലാലി വീരൻ), നാഗങ്ങൾ, ബ്രഹ്മരക്ഷസ്, യക്ഷി, ശിവൻ എന്നിവരാണ്.
